Quote A89M at 07 Sep 2012 4.48pm

BobbySmith, I have read through this whole ‘debate’ about who has the better team, fan base and stadium. To me, this is all banter and really quite amusing that you are a 50 something year old man with nothing better to do than argue your points on the CPFC board but CMS better than Zaha, don’t make me laugh. CMS is 28 and has reached his max potential and is still at a mediocre football club. Ok, Norwich came in for £3mill but it’s not going to get much better than that.. Let’s be honest. Whereas Zaha is 21, playing in the Championship and has already shown what he can do against Rafael who is the 1st choice RB at United, imagine what he’ll be like when he’s 28 years old and matured. The money that we’ll get for him we’ll not only be for his quality now but also his future potential with the right coaching.

I don’t agree with a thing you’ve said but I honestly took your points on board (everyone has their own views) until I read this complete nonsense and my conclusion is you don’t have a clue about football and you're clearly on here because you have nothing better to do with your life.

See you can your opinions about our players, so we can about yours, I honestly would rather have CMS, my opinion, I really do not think Zaha is that good in the 3 games I have seen him play, he was awful last night I thought ?, but I am sure you will say he was good ?, opinions that is all. I am sure most teams in the Championship would like them both in their team, but more than happy with CMS, not just this seasin, where he is in fire, he was good last years as well.

You think I talk nonense as I am BHA fan, that is all. Just one day you might realise that just because you support a different team, you are allowed to have an opinion. I would say my opinions are close to what the football world would agree on, not people with blue and red tinted classes on.

If we are a mediocre, then what does that make Palace, a team so far behind us on most things and that is not an opinion, think a fact, better stadium, fact, bigger crowds, fact, better income, fact, better team/squad, opinion, although time will tell, but as we finished was it 8 places above you and have improved the squad, and only lost one player - Noone, you have lost 3 good players and it does not look good according to your fans, that your signings are up to much, then I would say still an opinion, your academy is better than ours, fact, well at the moment, but that has a good chance of changing the next few years, so I will give you that one...so better than us in youth dev, not bad. If you did a poll in the football world and asked what club is better prepared for going forward to the Premership, be honest, how many outside Croydon, would say Palace. Think once you actually realise that Brighton are back, as we were a big club in the 70/80s as the older ones will know, then we will leave you alone.

You're a total bell. Yes, you have a nice shiny new ground - well done. Your crowds are better than ours at the moment - the stats don't lie. Will they continue to be? Only time will tell. The problem with all of your "arguments" is that you only sing when you're winning. Where were you when you were s***? You suggest that your academy has a chance of being better than ours in a few years? With our continued investment in the youth process and the academy it would be interesting to understand how you think that you will overake years of CPFC youth development investment and our catchment area - where these youngsters are sourced from? Is Brighton suddenly going to be a real hot-bed of local football talent to rival South London? How many "hot prospects" have you got coming through. As with all of your points you only base them on a snapshot in time - now - and then try to predict the future or suggest that "an imaginary poll in the football world may say you're better prepared." So what? An actual poll amongst my mates suggests that you're an absolute tosser who talks s***e. We may have finished below you in the league, you may go up (but I doubt it) and we are in a period of transition. However, with the controlled running of our club it is unlikely that we will be down for long. (In football terms that is). I wont predict the future or make bold statements (along the academy lines - like you)but have some confidence in our owners and feel that the future is bright - even if it takes a few seasons. You are just a typical smug t***. You start to do well and you think it gives you bragging rights and the ability to ignore years of history. You speak about a 19 year old prospect and compare him to a lower league journeyman like a child comparing their dads. Why don't you just grow up and jog on.

So what part is rubbish ?

CMS V Zaha ?, I know who I would rather have, the one who gives 100%, scores and makes more goals, does not dive all the time and is a superb ambassador to the club and does a lot for the Brighton Community Project, or a good player, who charges a fee to go to supporters dos (did more than 8 turn up) ?

The Fair Play rules ?

please let me know, as I am not trying to wind anyone up.

CMS has spent moreorless the entirety of his career outside of the Championship, there's a reason for that - he's not that good.

Zaha is 19, spent the entirety of his career thus far, in the Championship, and in a year or so will be signed by a Premiership club and see out the remainder of his career as a Premiership and International player.

Ask any, and I mean any, Championship manager, player, fan or coach outside of Brighton who they'd rather have in their team, and 90% would give you the same answer.

Four Four Two magazine had a poll for the '50 best football league players' which was voted for by Football League fans; Mackail-Smith was not voted in the top 50, Wilfried Zaha was voted 5th.

On top of that, the ONLY Brighton player to feature was Liam Bridcutt, in 41st place.
Palace had Nathaniel Clyne in 32nd (the highest voted right back in the FL)
Speroni at 15th (the highest voted Goalkeeper in the FL)

So I guess the rest of the FL fans do agree that:

A) CMS isn't really very good.
B) Zaha is in fact, very good.
C) Zaha is the best young player in the Football League
D) Nathaniel Clyne was the best right back in the Football League.
E) Julian Speroni is the best goalkeeper in the football league.

We're all wasting our time lads.

In bobby's world everything is blue and white striped and in three season's time they will win the Champions League. Palace will be in the conference.

It's hard to debate with the disillusioned.

CMS has spent moreorless the entirety of his career outside of the Championship, there's a reason for that - he's not that good.

He is ok in our eyes thank you and premership bids back that.

Zaha is 19, spent the entirety of his career thus far, in the Championship, and in a year or so will be signed by a Premiership club and see out the remainder of his career as a Premiership and International player.

I agree he will be brought by someone like Wigan, Bolton or someone. In my view and a lot others and the stats back that up, he is not as good as you all think.

Ask any, and I mean any, Championship manager, player, fan or coach outside of Brighton who they'd rather have in their team, and 90% would give you the same answer.

Yeap agree, CMS, he is rated, Zaha has potential and if he stops all that silly diving he will get better and people will take him more serious. Did you see him last night ?. verdict was he was a bit out of his depth at that level, trys to be clever all the time and that is the opinion of a lot of your fans, not just me.

Four Four Two magazine had a poll for the '50 best football league players' which was voted for by Football League fans; Mackail-Smith was not voted in the top 50, Wilfried Zaha was voted 5th.

Yeah, opinions, like I have one as well and think I would rather have CMS that Zaha, sorry but it is true. CMS also does a load for the communuity and the kids. He even turned up at my mates boys birthday party and stayed and chatted to the kids for ages. All he was asked for was a 'Retweet' and he said he could do better and come round and guess what ?, he did not charge for that and stayed on his feet all the time.

On top of that, the ONLY Brighton player to feature was Liam Bridcutt, in 41st place.

Class Player, who you thought was not good enough, now looks at him, better than anyone you have in that postion, strange decision by your mananger, but you are used to that, maybe he gets the ball forward a bit too quick for his liking ?

Palace had Nathaniel Clyne in 32nd (the highest voted right back in the FL)

Has he got any boots that he does not fall over in, after watching Saints the other week and and Buckley skinned him time and time again at Selhurst. But agree he looked a good player the other times I saw him

Speroni at 15th (the highest voted Goalkeeper in the FL)

Wow, wonderful, he looks crap this year though boys.

All about opinions, that is all. I really think and so does most of football think that Zaha is good, but not worth the amount of money you think, so why did not anyone match his Palace valuation ?, ask that one ?

I would take any bet that CMS will score more goals than Zaha this year and double that with we will have a player with more assists if you dont count penalties, although it looks like the Refs are wiseing up to him at last, see his foul and bookings this year are not that impressive.

Pm me with any bets and money goes to charity, come on put your money where your mouths are.

So I guess the rest of the FL fans do agree that:

A) CMS isn't really very good.
Nope, he is rated that is why clubs want him
B) Zaha is in fact, very good.
he is good, not really good, long way to go
C) Zaha is the best young player in the Football League
Joke, then are loads better and more honest than him
D) Nathaniel Clyne was the best right back in the Football League.
A good right back, being shown up a bit at premership at the moment and I bet he is glad he does not have to play up against Buckley every week ?
E) Julian Speroni is the best goalkeeper in the football league.
Now you are joking, we have a much better keeper, so do quite a few more, again if you had all these great players last year, why were you so bad ? and struggled, the rest must have been real bad. Please tell me my little deluded Croydonians ?

I rest my case, no need to respond as you lot are just a bunch of losers who cant face the fact that we have over taken you as a club, and actually deep down I can understand your frustration and I do feel for you as you seem to be going the wrong way on your squad being depleted, no new ground on the horizon, a boring defensive manager, a board that promise loads but do not deliver.

I see someone asked what is a 50 plus man doing on here a few times a week and yes agree, I should not, but when I see some of your comments, they do really need replying too, but understand that you dont like the truth or differemt opinions, so I will leave you alone to have a great season, well think you will struggle quite a bit and hopefully we can have a chat at the end of the year and will settle our bets, of course, that if any of you want to have that bet ??

All that bollocks.... is your opinion that's why no one gives a F-ck .
None of us are even remotely interested what a Weed M-nge thinks about Zaha or any of our players.
CMS is still a weird paid over the odds oddball who is belongs in the 70s with that Bee Gees hair do.
Buckley is a toothpick injury prone diver (See Selhurst) who will never be fit enough to be a good player and you reckon he gave Clyne a roasting ?f*** off your team were s*** in both games against us.
Jules is a legend at our club and most Palace fans wouldn't swap him for the world including your ex Manc 3rd choice goalie.
You really are one sad deluded individual ,you lot think your so good .Will we finish top two?

Bye

BHA are doing well and may well finish higher than us for only the 2nd year in decades so I suppose it's a big deal for you, but you cant take away in all your history this will live in the record books forever No doubt we'll see you before long but have a look at this just to remind you who is still on top no matter what the table says
