If my son´s ever gonna tell me, that i have to quit beeing a Palace fan, because he´so ashamed, I´m afraid that I´m going to release him into adoption ! It´s no question of age, it´just a question of passion...

That's the spirit! palace til we die.

Me too, if my son and daughter stop kissing the Palace badge on my shirt before a game then they too are subject to the adoption process.

Pinch me, I'm dreaming, but if it is don't let me know.

I have just read this essay Isobel and all I can say is that it has touched me deeply. As a supporter since 1966 when I was your age I, like so many of us, have been through the baiting and taunting of the glory hunters. I still use the "how many home games have you been to line" even now... and it works a treat everytime!

Your Dad and others in your family should be extremely proud of you Isobel.

Perhaps you can write some inspiring Essays for the England football team for your next exercise.

Whatever happens this season this will remain one of the highlights for me.

Bravo!!! Encore !!!

You got the replies you deserve Isobel. Your essay was a breath of fresh air on this site. I've read it a few times now, I find it helps after we lose

Ah well

I'm 13 and have been a palace fan since I was born due to being born in the area, and lived there until I was 3. My dad and uncle have always been Palace fans aswell so it was just natural. I get a load of stick at school from this little Chelsea supporting idiot, but I asked him how he felt when Chelsea won, and all he said was 'Meh, it's better than losing'. That's the kind of thing that makes palace special - winning means something. I also have a couple of Man U mates and one who supports Ipswich and one who supports Reading - they are the best to talk to as they are proper football fans.

Good for you. My son gets the same, being a Palace fan amongst gloryhunting schoolmates. But he stays strong, as do you, knowing you are true fans.

We know you are the future of our club and are very proud of you for your dedication to the Palace cause

I was 11 when we reached the Cup Final and I remember loads of people at school claiming to suddenly be Palace fans and being my best mate because as ST holders we were going to Wembley. Makes me sick.

Still, for everyone like that we have Isobel and Gladall Over.

What makes a true palace supporter???

Well recently Palace has been going on a let’s just say a very bad streak... Of course we get cross frustrated angry with ourselves and even shouting at the television. But we don’t lose heart we keep being positive and if the players play badly we can tell them off but if they try their best and lose than that’s not really important. Of course it’s about winning, you play to win but if they try their absolute hardest than that’s all we ask from them.

It’s no fun at all saying you support Man United because when you arrive at the match you just know they will probably win.

But a true Palace supporter goes to as many matches as they can and proudly wear the red and blue, cheer clap and stay positive. When we lose you don’t just say I am now switching to man u so that we don’t have to go through with all the stress but anyone can say that cant they.. They are Glory Hunters, they brag to us about winning - well we say we have tried our best we can’t say anything else about it but when a Saturday comes around again and we win we are more excited than the Chelsea/Man u glory hunter fans are. We praise Palace when they do well and hopefully that will influence their next match, they will feel the support and feel more brightened. What I am trying to say is anyone can support Chelsea/Man U but it takes a whole lot more to support Palace. We have our ups and downs but that’s what supporting Palace is all about - a team we love and encourage.

We love you Eagles.......

Watched the game today (Isobel in tears at the end)with plenty of shouting at the television.

Needed to re-read her comments to feel a little bit calmer - the boys played fantastic and showed their commitment and as quoted that is all we can ask. Though a bit of luck would be welcome as well..

Looking forward to next Sat..
