I look back over decades of watching and i reckon i never went quite as mental as when standing on the holt end in 1990 and Brighty equalized against the scousers in THAT game.

Either Stockport away or the Play Off final of 97. Probably the Stockport game, the long journey up there and then 87 minutes hearing how Bradbury had scored for Pompey and we were headed down, then Dougie scored. Magic.

Really hard to choose, Gray equalising to make it 3-3 stands out, as does Dave Maddens play off penalty & Wright's cup final goal to make it 2-1.

I'd have to go for 04 play off final though for sheer "I can't believe it" value. I'm sure I walked around for days afterwards shaking my head & laughing to myself.

Shipps' goal at Cardiff.....he scored, I was jumping up and down, but it wins, purely for the reason that while celebrating, I scraped my shin on the seat in front of me, and still have the mark today!

Another one for me was Powell's goal at Sunderland.....never before have I gone THAT mental in my living room before.

The end of the infamous high noon at Villa park - when the final whistle went and it sunk in that we had just done over liverpool 4-3 in the cup - class!

long list limited to just a few:

maddens penalty v blackburn
wrighty coming off the bench at wembley vs manure
chris armstrong away vs southend the year we won the league
hopkin vs sheff utd at wembley
doog vs stockport
powell vs sunderland

compared to that lot, shipps vs west ham was a bit boring really !!!

Would have to be after Hopkin scored in '97 at Wembley. I was going mad, turned around and everyone else was doing the same and then ended up hugging complete strangers lol. By the time we'd stopped celebrating, we'd won and the other end was already empty!

Optimistic as ever

I did the exactly the same thing during the England v Holland game in Euro 96 (4-1), jumped up at 2-0 and got a nice long scrape down the front of my shin. A scar to be proud of.

But the most mental has to be at Cardiff, final whistle. What a moment!

Cardiff, i was just a raging bull all the way through. It was so emotional, just wanted to be out there kicking the ball with the lads... i think everyone there was the same!
When they lined up at the start for national anthems and after, just before kick off, i had already lost my voice!!! I was so tense and pysched (sp) i could have taken Tyson on and knocked him out!

TITCHY-D Flag Don't know... 11 Oct 04 4.58pm

I've got five.

1) The day I first started surporting Palace. "Dad what team do you surport" he replies "Palace" "Ok I'll surport them then!" (Anybody got a weirder story of how they started to surport Palace??) Would'nt have changed that for the world though.

2) Going to my first match with a friend I it was in the 1996 promotion season against Bradford City we won 3-1 and I think Hopkin scored a hat-trick. Talked all the way through p***ed people off and didn't get taken until the next season.

3) Bunking school to go to Anfeild never screamed and shouted so much in my life until a year later! Magic night. ObviouslY, this went to Jullian's head and made him think he's better than he is.

4) Again bunking school this time to go Sunderland. (I swear I've only bunked twice ever)Before Darren Powell's goal I must admit I was thinking to myself. We will win the leauge and get automatic promation next year then....WHOOOOOOOOOHOOOO!!! Then after the game my mum phoned me to tell me I was on TV!! I told the school that watching Palace is the cure for the common cold and they let me off!! (joking)

5) The Play off Final in Cardiff. When The final whistle blew I my Dad and someone I didn't even know was hugging me and thowing me around like a toy I almost broke my arm! My Dad brought a Millenium Experience hat and then lost the f***ing thing on my birthday when on a scary ride! The said they cheack the whole in Oblivion every three months well it's been four now! (Good thing it weren't my lucky hat!)

Short story about my lucky hat brought it at Christmas and wore it at the start of the Dowie era then all of a sudden we go up! Then I don't wear it all in the Premiership season and we don't win. I wear it at Fulham and we win coincidence I think not!!

Do a strange, involuntary stamping thing with my feet when I really lose it, not the sort of thing you could get away with doing anywhere else....although I haven't tried.
