Jose wants our Jefferson, 15m Euros, officials flying to England. This could be all bollox/agent(more wages) or just click-bait doing their best to unsettle all our players & get them sold . . . [Link]
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

According to the BBC, Liverpool are negotiating for Guehi too. I'm very much inclined to either panic a bit or trust that the club know what they're doing and will manage any such situations, if true, effectively. I'm far more inclined to the latter. We finished the season very strongly and have had several players in two continental finals. Hardly surprising.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

He's reportedly turned down a new contract with us and we just need to hope that his excellent performances during the Euro's will start a bidding war and add £10m to his price tag. He didn't feature much at the end of season and I feel a defender is easier to replace than a creative attacking one. Lerma would be a fresh blow. He's been brilliant for us and provides more energy than the other midfielders. He also showed that he can play in Glasner's back three. I'm fearing a domino effect after Olise left. Losing Eze as well would be a toughest pill to swallow.

This massively boosted my confidence in the club when we got them early, as I alluded to in my last post. I am therefore expecting Guehi to leave. Lerma, Eze or anyone else leaving would of course be a huge blow although not the biggest shock. In my mind, we are moving toward becoming very much a Glasner unit as a team, therefore my focus is less upon individuals staying/going. I'm more concerned by the disruption than the loss of individual talent. I'm hoping I am right, Glasner stays and the club continue to ensure we are resourced appropriately, even if that means some movement inwards and outwards. COYP

In my opinion Lerma is an all-rounder who fits attack, midfield and defence. He is too valuable to lose at this stage in our development. The reported E15 million is a try-on by Mourinho as Turkish clubs are restricted by foreign currency rules on transfer fees. Unlikely to happen. With regards to Kamada, I see him as a replacement for Ayew who has been told that Palace will not stand in his way if he finds another club. In other words don’t expect to playing for the first team. Glasner was not impressed by his performances especially in the Man City home match and at 33 (September) he has no real future at the Club.

My guess is that we'll make him see out his contract and then he'll leave on a free. We can't take a huge exodus. If we were signing Ndidi I wouldn't mind but I'm not seeing us linked anymore. However, 15 mil is quite a big fee at this stage when we got him on a free.

By which I mean "it could only happen here" as opposed to "it's happened before" if that makes sense.

The departures of Olise, Guehi, Lerma, and Eze wouldn't hurt us nearly as much as the departure of Dougie Freedman. If his eye for talent remains with us, we will remain competitive. He even found Glasner, yes?

Can anyone logically explain why we would sell Lerma for c.£12m when he still has a 3 year contract.?

To me the Lerma story smacks of having legs, at least in terms of the approach to him. Furthermore, it would give Palace the opportunity to realise value in Lerma having signed him on a free. I also note that we have been linked with bringing in another defensive midfielder in this window which would be a surprise unless we were looking to release a midfielder. Of course I would be happy for him to stay because of his consistency, versatility and physicality, but it still wouldn’t surprise me if he left. Perhaps we are moving to an era where 2-3 years will often be the length of a player remaining at a club.
