Which are the 5 most important players for Palace next season, not best, but important, in order.
1. Mateta
2. Eze
3. Wharton
4. Andersen
5. Munoz

That is with the understanding that Kamada and Ryad are in the bag.

Munoz
Wharton
Olise
Andersen
Eze

Munoz and Wharton first for me because we’ve looked a totally different side with them, then Olise because I think he’s involved more than Eze in general through games, has a bit more of an impact, and Andersen because we all see last season when he had a dip in form we shipped goals, although the change in formation helped with that as well

Good selection monkey, but what about Doucoure? I think he would squeeze in instead of Andersen for me.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

Actually mate, good call, I forgot about the douc, he’ll be like a new signing now, I think we could all see how much we missed him until we turned into Man.City the last few games

The system is perfect for us because despite there brilliance I don’t see Olise or Eze as the pivots for success. I will give 5 names in no particular order.

Munoz (Gallagher of old with the press)
JPM (Unselfish holdup play)
Wharton (Quickly link up play between defence and attack)
Henderson/Johnstone (every team needs a good keeper)
Doucoure/Lerma (box to box and allow Munoz/Mitchell to flourish)

It goes without saying you also need the quality of Olise, Eze, Guehi and Andersen to be successful.

I am amazed that you didn't put JPM in the list, our only CF, an injury to him, our player of the season, and unless we get a back up, the words paddle and creek spring to my mind

You can say that about any of our players getting injured, we’ve got a good side, but as we all see last season, a few injuries and we’re buggered

For me:

1. Wharton
2. Mateta
3. Olise
4. Eze
5. Munoz

Wharton is critical to everything. With Wardy and Clyne filling in, and well as Hughes we've shown that in this system we can get away without a few players (MG, CD etc) that we thought were critical

In no particular order, I would suggest if all/any combination of:

JPM
Eze
Wharton
Munoz
Andersen

are out of the team it will significantly change how we play and therefore the effectiveness of our performances. I personally think Olise will be our 'best player' if he stays however his brilliance is individual. Those I've highlighted affect the team most for me. I'd say Doucoure can be replaced with Lerma on occasions, LW, LB, Andersen's fellow CBs and the GKs are all covered/not too badly affected whoever plays there, IMHO.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Wharton (if you need to know why your not paying attention)
Olise (goals and assists win games)
Eze (ditto plus he smiles a lot )
Andersen (passing ability from the back is key in Glasner system)
Franca (hes gonna be on this list in 6 months )

Do you know, I started this and then bottled it. Of the likely starting 11, only Mitchell can be left out. And I bet he plays an absolute blinder next season!

The one reservation I have is that, with the squad on the up, where is the room for academy graduates?

The other point is that, have you checked the squad and done a head count on those who may not make the starting 11. Take out the kids and goalie and you still have 13 names. Very good players may not make the bench.
