Line up - Guehi
Subs - Henderson, Eze, Wharton

so far ...

England opened up like a tin of sardines on the experienced side - Rice, Walker, Stones

Edit - it is Mainoo to the right of Rice

Henderson just stepped up the pecking order as reserve Goalkeeper

Guehi - no issues

Wharton and Eze - coming on to save the blushes ... ?

I’m finding watching this training session frustrating, I want to turn over because I’m bored, but I can’t incase anymore of our boys come on

Pretty much agree with you mileend.

What a dire game of football. No spark at all. No atmosphere.

I'm almost tempted to switch to the election debate for something more lively. And, if anyone else is watching, is there a strange double commentary on Channel 4?

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

it's looking good in terms of needing to find a different answer to the goalkeeper, five defender, five midfielder formation of Iceland

Gordon is a decent out ball but they are defending deep so a rare option

This is where the England fan would start panicking and asking for Grealish - they may really need Eze

Mainoo pretty anonymous so far

Palmer is looking class, and Southgate can justify saying Kane needed the game to sharpen up!

Half time analysis

Mainoo too far forward for the Iceland goal to have any chance of helping protect the defence against the counter attack

Southgate will be worried how open we were

Guehi was one of the better performances

Indeed manioo was out of position there but I think he is trying to get noticed rather than just playing the game . He is a good player. Wharton is a very good player though and should be Rices sidekick when the action starts next week

They need some defensive midfield cover - URGENTLY

This is really opening up a chance for Wharton

(and Wharton isn't really a defensive midfielder he just knows how to do his job in a disciplined manner and not get carried away with chasing glory)

Should be 2-0

missed an opportunity for a Palace rescue mission with your subs Gareth

Good to see Trent AA coming on as a right back (not midfielder!)

Can't really argue about Saka - but still - this game has an Eze shaped hole in it

Guehi apparently made an error but I was typing this so missed it
