Not sure about this but if a private investor puts in money like bloom at Brighton then would that balance the books ?

According to the BBC the PL has agreed to trial a spending cap next season. This will work along side the current FFP rules which did for Forest and Everton.

The spending cap is just a trial so if any club breaches it there will not be any punishment. I guess that makes sense, try out a new rule before you start penalising people.

One more point

I think investors are limited by what cash they can inject into the club. The only way to increase revenue is through lowering wages, selling players and the the commercial arm of the club, Merchandising, ticket sales, advertising etc.

Where it gets murk is if Tony Bloom decides to sponsor the club shirt for a ridiculous amount. Or in the case of City you get your Arab mates through their companies to do the same thing.

It's why FFP doesn't work it would be a lot easier if they simplified the rules and allowed those who had money to inject it into the club legally. FFP should be about stopping clubs borrowing too much money as Pompey did.

One more point

I don't know but yeah that would work. Barcelona sold their future TV rights. There are always ways around these rules but the more complicated they get the more likely someone will come up with a tricky solution that the PL hasn't thought about.

I would prefer a much simpler solution, if an owner wants to pump money into the club let him to a point. You then have decide where to draw the line.
