Whatever anyone thinks of Roy as a manager I think we all agree he deserves our respect and appreciation for his service to the club. I think it would be a classy gesture from the club to invite him back to next week’s game so he can get the send off he deserves. If enough people back this idea surely the powers that be will listen.

Testimonial for ward in the summer, with palace playing a palace 11 managed by Roy.

I’m not in favour as Roy had his send off after his first stint. There was a certain amount of selfishness in his return as he has often hinted that football was his life and he wouldn’t know what to do with his time. During this time Roy did very little to help the Academy players or our strikers who received no coaching. He is responsible for the lowest number of goals scored and highest ever home defeat in our league history. The joke in the Whitehorse Lane was “one shot on target, one shot off and no goals” in the first half. I wonder what our top scorer might think if the fans ‘honoured’ the man who nearly ruined his EPL career. ( I write this as Sorloth, similarly treated, hits his 18th league goal in Spain this season.) I am happy to be called bitter and twisted but it’s a big NO from me.

I think it would be a sporting and appropriate gesture for Roy to at least be invited to next week's match. It was good to see him on video saying some complimentary words about Ward at his presentation the other day. I agree that Roy has already had an official send off so we shouldn't over egg the pudding. I have recently been wondering what Roy thinks about Ollie's impact as he watches our games from his armchair. He must surely be impressed and, as a lifelong fan, delighted with recent performances and results. Anyway, I hope he made a full recovery from whatever caused him to collapse at Copers Cope.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

i had always defended Roy on here. However, i thought Mateta et al were rubbish under Roy. And all these players not good enough for this league.....

I thought the same. We’ve moved on though and it’s the best possible result. In hindsight, when he first arrived, if you had said to me that Roy would keep us in the PL for as long as he did, I’d of had his face tattooed on my back immediately. It wasn’t pretty, was downright depressing at times, but the man did his job and deserves all our gratitude if or whenever he returns.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Absolutely not... it’s done and dusted... yes he did a good job.. but it’s over.. move on... his tactics were indeed outdated as has been proven under the new Manager... he just didn’t give enough time to certain players in the team... prime example being JP Mateta...

Perhaps we could play Royball in his honour, mis-timing passes across the back line and defending deep when we go a goal down after 2 minutes.
Life is the same as it always will be, |

He was paid fabulously well for some pretty uninspiring football so no. Just Imagine if we had OG in charge for the 10 games we were discussing Roy's departure, on current form we'd be in Europe next season.
