After our recent run, we've narrowed the gap to the teams above us. It's very unlikely but we could theoretically still finish as high as 9th.

With a few million per place at stake, this could impact our summer spending.

Currently the table reads...

9th - West Ham (49pts -14GD)
10th - Bournemouth (48pts -11GD)
11th - Brighton (47pts -4GD)
12th - Wolves (46pts -11GD)
13th - Fulham (44pts -4GD)
14th - Palace (43pts -8GD)
15th - Everton (37pts -11GD)

The fixtures of the teams above us:

West Ham - Luton (H), City (.A)
Bournemouth - Brentford (H), Chelsea (.A)
Brighton - Newcastle (.A), Chelsea (H), United (H)
Wolves - Palace (H), Liverpool (.A)
Fulham - City (H), Luton (.A)
Palace - Wolves (.A), Villa (H)

Some very difficult fixtures there and I reckon ours is the easiest run in. However, by my maths if we we were to beat Wolves by 2 goals at the weekend, we'd probably be 12th given that Fulham play City.

Were West Ham and Bournemouth to somehow lose, suddenly they'd be within our reaches. Annoyingly Brighton have an extra fixture, even if they're all tricky.

Lots of ifs and buts I know but where do you think we'll finish?

Ah, another who stares and stares at the table working out every possible scenario.

I will opt for:

12th place
49 points
Minus 5 GD

Slow morning at work!

I reckon we'll get to 11th with West Ham and Brighton just staying ahead of us. We'd have to win both games but, given how full of confidence we are, I don't reckon that's beyond the realms of possibility.

The only dull element to an otherwise brilliant season end.

Wish our last home game was them.

On current form even a slightly off form Brighton should beat Utd, especially as they'll be resting players for the Cup final?

If they draw 2 games 0-0 and lose one 2-0 and we win ours both 1-0 we finish bang level GD, GS, etc apart from one more win for us but their points in head to head against us means they get the place. EPL rules. If we win ours and accrue 5 more goals including offsetting the ones they let in then we beat them on GD by One.
They only need one win to finish above us though.
Also If your aunt had bollox she would be your uncle

Your maths isn't incorrect, however we only need to beat Wolves to go above them. Our GD is better than theirs already.

Prior to this season, we've had 14 seasons in the Premier League and have finished 12th in 2 of those seasons.

Yes but it feels like we always finish 12th.
