These are my estimates for what we might realistically get for our players, were they to transfer to another club this summer. name value They are estimated market values, amounts I believe clubs would actually pay. I'm sure some are inflated, others too low. I am not super aware of contract status. They do not reflect my personal view of individuals' value to the team in any way. They are only best guess market prices. Olise, for example, must be worth more but it seems he has a release clause. Hughes is in great form. Edouard is better (I personally feel) than the value I assigned him. Regardless, we have amassed a great and valuable squad and with some clever trading can afford to lose one or two stars this summer. And we have some like Ozoh and JRS and unseen youth boys who maybe need adding.

Football is about money. The approximate value of our squad offers clues about how much of it we might have. Possibly £450million being the answer. Have no particular desire to sell any player, especially not cheaply.

This is from the bbc concerning both Eze & Olise & according to them, neither have a 'straight forward' release clause in their contracts . . . [Link] It appears, to me, the bbc are doing everything possible to get us to sell our players.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

Either the beeb were informed of that recently by a club source, making it a legitimate story, or they weren't, making it a fabrication for which the reporter should be fired but of course would never be. However, I believe they would have been told this. Although with our ownership structure, it's important to know precisely who the source was.

The BBC sport reporting tends to be on the conservative side they are usually the last to confirm when a transfer happens. So I suspect that their source must be close to the club. It's a bit worrying because it sounds to me like the club has accepted that they will go and want to get the bidding started as earlier as possible so we can get our targets in. This alleged statement and the short term finance we have taken out seems to indicate we will be selling one of both of them. Of course I hope I am wrong.

The report says they are also happy at Palace so even if a clause is partially activated they will need to agree other terms to persuade them to leave. It probably reflects reality, we might need to sell this summer for the finances, but at least puts the discussion at a sensible level One of the most annoying aspects of the yearly Zaha will he stay, will he go saga was that the big clubs would unsettle by putting in ridiculously low bids. The Arsenal one where they claimed to be too poor to offer any higher was ridiculous / hilarious - especially as they then blew £70m on Pepe Now the wanna be suitors know that there is going to be no easy pickings My view is that £60m is not enough for either of them - Wan Bissaka was £50m - but obviously I am biased!

Amid any speculation about the value of the Palace Squad consideration must include sell-on clauses which probably involve QPR (Eze) Blackburn (Wharton) Reading (Olise) Chelsea (Guehi) and possibly others. This is the drawback when purchasing 'bargains' from lower divisions - if the seller is savvy enough to insert such a clause. Remember, if we had sold Zaha Man United were entitled to 20% Hopefully we can hang on to our most treasured players.
