That's the future folks, Northern Ireland style sectarian demonstrations and violence, with periodic terrorist acts.

Therefore should the police decide that any group are only doing so to avoid identification then surely they have the right to require they be removed if they decide identification is necessary? Don’t they do much the same with hoodies? It’s really easy for these people to march together either to celebrate a national day or make a protest. All they need to do is stay within the set boundaries, don’t pick fights with the police or abuse the horses. They always though seem to want to seek confrontation, enter areas not available to them or behave in unruly ways. Blaming the police for doing their job won’t convince anyone.

Watch the next Hamas march and you might get the point I’m making. I wasn’t questioning the police and their actions. I was questioning if the rule is being implemented for all!

I have no interest in watching any march. So tell me please. Do those marchers wear face masks, enter prohibited areas and behave so badly that the police need to identify individuals? Or just wear face masks?

He was arrested when he, and others, refused to comply with a police request not to deliberately try to walk through an organised march, in the opposite direction with the intent of disrupting if and provoking confrontation. You get a free pass if you obey the law and cooperate with the police. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (23 Apr 2024 10.00pm)

Or indeed for weaving in and out of a protest on multiple occasions with a group of very large, very scary ‘friends’ trying to find a way to create the impression that the march was a ‘hate’ march.

The removal of face masks on marches is at the discretion of the police. The Met have no problem with people wearing masks as they chant for the destruction of Israel and all those Jews in it. The Jewish man was threatened with arrest for being openly Jewish in effect. The point it if he was attacked by the pro-Palestinian mob it would have proved the weekly marches are not " peaceful " if you are of a different opinion. Edited by HKOwen (24 Apr 2024 8.54am)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

I think you will find Ulster to be the calmest safest bit of these whole islands. London & Dublin are a mess. And don't even get me started on the old Textile/coal/steel towns up tut North.
