What do others think?

Is wharton the bargain of the season? Rice was more than 5 times what we paid for this kid. He has been outstanding since his arrival and probably added a good 10 million or more to his value.

When you think about the cost of our team, you have to take your hat off to DF.

I'm so impressed by him. He has come into the side and already looks like a seasoned pro. He has a cool head and makes the game look easy and never looks flustered.

Great player already but sadly the crows will be looking for fresh meat, lets just enjoy him over the next 1 1/2 seasons.

Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course).

Yes. But he's much more than just a great bargain. He's a critical component to a rejuvenated midfield, one that has struggled ever since Conor Gallagher left. And frankly towards the end of Gallagher's loan, too.

He’s very good in all areas particularly his snappy tackling and the way he breaks up the oppositions play but let’s not put too much pressure on the young lad.

personally i think we overpaid - a price of nearer £15m seemed more realistic, and he needs to improve his physical strength and his stamina - which hopefully will come as he gets a little older - however, he has done very well and has slotted in seamlessly.

I think the fact that we lacked a midfielder who could pass the ball seems to have excited many. It is nice to see, but surely a basic skill.

Let's not put too much pressure on the lad.

A good start but he needs to keep improving

I wouldn’t say a bargain because we paid a lot of money for him, but he’s been a good signing that’s for sure

When the rumours broke that we were interested in this kid sometime in the middle of last January anyone who watches a bit of Championship football would have been gobsmacked that we had a chance of signing him .
All the indications from the North West suggested it was nailed on he was off in the summer .Liverpool , Newcastle and Spurs being among the favourites to get his signature

To get him and to get him at the price we did in January was a masterstroke . It might also have been that Blackburn are skint

If he is not the bargain of the season I would like to know who is

I read an interview with Adam in which he cited the likes of Ebz and Olise as being influential in his decision to join us.

Hopefully, especially with OG now at the helm, we continue to be an attractive proposition for up and coming talent in the league below us.

He looks another gem where we cannot fork out 40-60mil for a similar but already established player. Great buy.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think Munoz was perhaps more of a bargain and it seemed no one was aware of him. Apparently, the fee might have been as low as £6 million. Wharton is undoubtedly a real talent and in a few years he could be playing at the top, but let's not get too carried away, he's not the finished article yet. My daughter likes to point out that he looks like Sam Johnstone's kid!
