He was having a really good season and then it stopped. He was poor defensively and offensively on Saturday. I can’t be the only one who thinks he should be dropped?

He hasn't been the same since AFCON other than the assist for the first goal against Burnley. I think Glasner missed a trick by not starting Ahamada against Bournemouth. Presumably, Olise will start in his spot against Liverpool but they may move Jordan over to replace Eze who has been equally disappointing and could be a big liability defensively against a team like Liverpool

Difficult one this , if we had Lerma and Wharton in midfield then i would play both Eze and Olise (as i believe Eze is a different player when Olise plays) , but i dont think either Richards or Guehi will be fit this weekend so i reckon Ayew will get a stay of execution

Ayew is 32 years old now and has almost literally not stopped grafting for us since he arrived. May just be that catching up with him, an injury, just a bit of a less impressive spell, AFCON or other if he looks a bit off the pace.

I certainly won’t hold it against him, even if it is decided he’ll be further down the pecking order purely for competitive reasons. It’s not so common but I love it when Ayew scores, almost like the entire crowd acknowledge an added dimension to the celebration. Great player and great servant to our club.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The influence of Eze is completely negated on the left wing.
Find a system that builds around him playing centrall.
For the 39128320932 time.

So that is why Ayew has lost form?

Agreed.

He's not in the best of form at the moment, but he's hardly alone in that !

I think he needs a rest, which he may well get if Olise is fit enough to start a game soon.

Glasner seems to want players to move the ball quicker with more one and two-touch football and more through-balls, which possibly doesn't play to Ayew's strengths which are dribbling and holding the ball up. We also seem to be looking to get the ball to JPM quicker. I also agree that he's probably a bit tired after a long season.

I would give him a boost and play him as centre forward

Exactly this.

Its easy to remember that at the end of last season, with Wilf, Olise and Eze in form, Ayew had no chance of starting.

A few injuries later and he's our most important offensive player.

We all know his limitations going forward, but that doesn't take away his importance to the squad.

Just a suggestion guys, Ramadan?

Ayew's poor performances coincide with this, it maybe a coincidence but it maybe that due to the drinking and eating restrictions it has impacted his level of energy.

Anyway Ramadan will be over before our next game so maybe judge him over the next couple of matches.
