I know from another thread that one or two will have seen the new manager's first interview. What did I make of it?

1. It reassured me.
2. It was good to learn that the club have been talking with him since the Autumn with a view to starting next season.
3. Loved his take on the reason to play football is to score goals!
4. Big on togetherness and mutual support
5. Intends us to play the same way whether we're at home or away, albeit (reading between the lines) allowing for some tweaks depending on the opposition.

Will be interesting to see how we set up and perform on Saturday.

Hopefully not too much change - too quickly.
The ghost of De Boer still haunts me !

Interview was great for a minute until he mentioned Cahirman's vision.

Brighty: Yes Steve, Dougie : Aye Steve , Oliver : Jahwol Steve

How many managers have been promised funds that never emerged

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

He certainly talks the talk, just hope he walks the walk.

He seems to smile a fair bit, whereas FdB always appeared more solemn. I am liking what I've seen so far and his answers to the questions put to him give me cause for optimism.

Good luck Oliver.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I'm on the same page.

The apparent backstory to this is very reassuring too. COYP and come on Oliver!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

A really interesting interview. He seems like a decent guy. Nice to hear this began in the Autumn and that he had watched Palace . Also that the plan was to start in the summer until Roy became ill.
His football philosophy sounds well suited to Palace and he was careful to say he will make the changes gradually. Lets hope he can galvanise the team and get those points on the board quickly. Good luck OG! COYP!

Comes across as quiet, thoughtful and intelligent. If it is true that the plan for him was to take over in the summer then he will likely have done more homework on us than would usually be the case when a manager comes in at this stage of a season. That could be a big plus. It also made me think that the club were holding back as the carrot wasn't big enough last summer. Like when PV took over maybe they will have a bigger war chest this coming summer (providing we stay up) and that's what they were dangling in front of Oliver (who hopefully won't find himself begging for more).

'Snap' on all of that.

Focus on scoring goals rather than on defending. That’s going to put a lot of very welcome pressure on JPM and OE to actually find the back of the net.

He gives off good vibes, I’m excited and hopeful for the future!
Interesting that he was lined up months ago so he will know a lot about his players already. Also speaks perfect English

It will be quite a culture change for the new foreign backroom staff and the players.

Focus on scoring? Hope there is a plan B, this is the Premier League.

Good luck anyway Glasnost.

We will need it.

Yes, I'm completely sure we planned all of this. Just like we planned Wilf's replacement and AWB's. I don't want to be rude about our supporters but believing the press releases from football clubs completely is a bit like believing Goebbels.
