Never really thought about him but he seems like he could be a decent choice. He seems to be playing it down as far as I can see.

He appears to be a somewhat dour character.

I have been told that Roy has gone. I am not ITK and it might be complete nonsense but the person who said it was very confident it was true…

Ipswich form has dipped dramatically
He gave a poor interview after defeat to Maidstone
Seems very quiet and deep character lacking charisma
Young and inexperienced
BUT bring him on - anything but Roy!

Actually after checking further it seems that this is almost certainly nonsense…

I don't see Roy going before the end of the season. If he picks up a decent number of points over the next 5 games (Chelsea, Everton, Burnley, Spurs and Luton) then the threat of becoming embroiled in the relegation battle will recede and Roy will see his time out, which I imagine is what the Board would want to see. If, however, we fail to win even two of those games, then who knows?

Last season we were linked with another former Man Utd coach, Carrick, who was doing an excellent job at Middlesbrough.
This season he's not doing so well (partly injuries, partly players leaving) and we're not linked
There can be something of the flavour of the month with these coaches.
It doesn't seem that long ago that Vieira was doing a good job at Palace and was being touted as a replacement for an under performing Arteta at Arsenal.
Unless you get a Pep or a Klopp you're always taking a gamble, and even with them they have the luxury of working with top players, full squads and hefty budgets which makes it easier not to fail.

I just can’t see Roy going anywhere now. Parish and go will have looked at the remaining games and will be thinking there’s enough points to be had even accounting for injuries and lack of goals
McKenna would be a massive chance in our current state, I just can’t see us bringing someone like him in for a last third of the season relegation scrap

I agree, its always something of a gamble. However, I could see McKenna as a Palace/Parish/Freedman type appointment. Has developed via the under 18's, has experience at a big club in Man Utd, has done very well at Ipswich etc.
Whether anything comes of it is another matter; frankly, given where Ipswich are in the table and the possibility of promotion, it seems unlikely unless there are issues behind the scenes that might make him think Palace are a great opportunity/logical step forward. Time will tell!

Saw this Today- come in from nowhere to now be 4/5 on favourite - someone knows something..!!

IMO - exactly the sort of Manager/Appointment we need - done unbelievably well with Ipswich - with minimal/limited resources and they play good and attractive football.

Background in coaching is 2 years at Spurs and 5 years at Man U, before joining Ipswich as Manager.

Both Potter and Cooper came from the Championship - I’m much more in favour of identifying and appointing the next emerging talent with fire in his belly to prove himself - than a Potter or Cooper - who seem reluctant to take the opportunity with us..!!

Me thinks there’s legs in this..!!

I am merely highlighting his record at Ipswich in response to the highlighted comments :

He took up the reins at Ipswich in season 2021-22 after the club had completed 23 games in League One.Ipswich were 11th in the table and the club finished in 11th place.

The following season 2022-23, Ipswich were promoted to the Championship finishing 2nd in the league.

This season, currently Ipswich are 4th in the Championship, 15 pts clear of the team just outside the promotion places and only 2 pts behind the team in 2nd place.
Ipswich have only won 1 of their last 8 league games.
