If the fans get behind the team and the club, both on match days and online, we will stay up. It is that simple. Even with a depleted squad. Then we will have a frankly incredible squad. If we bitch and moan, we may go down. Ergo, be positive. And if you are positive anyway, stand up and be counted. An autopsy can happen in the summer. If Parish sacks Hodgson that's his business. But people need to be less Charlton 2007.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I also hope the youngsters can chill out with Andersen, I'm not sure how productive it is to hurl abuse at defenders who come over to clap. His decision may not be the best thought out but I believe he has the right kind of attitude to fight for the club if given the backing of fans.

It’s clear with support and encouragement you perform better. With abuse and criticism you under perform. If we want to survive our Fans need to give full support to the team whatever is happening on the pitch and against Chelsea we will be struggling.COYP

I agree. We can all moan and criticise to the hills but perhaps that's where football forums provide the platform for it! On the day, we should back them all the way. COYP!! Edited by Nicholas91 (08 Feb 2024 12.43pm)
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I recognise your user name and feel sure we have disagreed in the past on subjects (not too difficult with me i guess lol) but this post I echo entirely and have been persistently trying to say the same. Its a fact that when fans start getting on the players/management's back it becomes harder and harder to turn things around. The banners and the moaning needs to stop. If we reach mathematical safety then demonstrate all you want. If you want to stay up get behind the team!

Agree with this why do we have to rely on those spotty oik thugs, to create an atmosphere, we did it before them & we can out sing them. Yes, let's create a proper Selhurst cacophony.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I’ve always said, they create a strange atmosphere really, its all a bit contrived, If the team are performing, the tackles are flying in from a fully committed team and we score goals the atmosphere looks after itself, it comes a bit more natural. If it’s all a bit s*** on the pitch, any noise coming from them is just well noise really coming from a small section of the ground

I for one, a supporter since the 60s in all climes, has decided not to attend the Chelsea game, accordingly my posterior will make contact with my settee in my abode rather than my seat at Selhurst Park.

Are we as a majority fanbase to be dictated to by a small minority, who, tbf, do create a good atmosphere as long as it's on their terms, OR, are we going to do it ourselves? I've got a ticket & I'm flying over for this, don't let me or anyone else down. C. O. Y. P.

This is one of the most useful and timely threads started in recent years. We're supporters. We support our team. We punch above our weight (rank the prem by stadium size and historic success). We don't turn a profit. We have purchased players for their future contributions and liklihood to sell for serious profit after we've blooded them (while understanding that we'll be exposed to their learning curve against the best players in the world) so that we can grow sustainably in the premier league - we've aquired 4 or 5 players that are consistently linked with top 4 clubs and will likely end up with one. This is visionary compared to many in our league, and plenty to be loud and proud over. The respected football journalists are warning us to be careful what we wish for. Time to listen.
