As great as Eze is, I do think Olise is a better player by quite a distance, and he’s 3.5 years younger. Eze can still go missing in some games, particularly against good sides, and his profile is harder to accommodate in modern formations.

Thing is both are bloody injury prone. Zaha hardly ever missed a game until his last season with us.

I agree entirely with that sentiment without any loss of love for Ebz. I have the feeling however that for the given reasons, Olise is heading to the top, aware of this and will therefore endeavour to move on. Eze for me has a bit more 'Wilf-ness' about him. May well be a star player at a club like ours for some time however whilst arguably the big fish, might not transition so well to being the smaller one. He's so individualistic in nature he might need a 'smaller' club to accommodate and prioritise his style over a more holistic approach. Just my two cents.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Although Eze is by FAR my favourite player. Olise has become our outlet, in much the same way Wilf was. And if we are lucky enough to get another season I'm sure he'll eclipse any in season Zaha numbers

Neither goes (hopefully). If we need 60M we sell Guehi!

How much say will we have in it? Olise has a buyout clause, if it is triggered and he wants to go can we actually prevent it? I suspect Olise is the most likely to go, probably in the summer. I would love them both to stay, what a fantastic prospect that would be!

My answer was based more on what I would want to happen and not what will happen in the real world! A big 16 games for Adam Wharton (assuming he signs) to show in American terms he can be an all star player in the future!! Another jewel in the squad , a new younger progressive manager in the summer and pack mentality might set in that we have something promising going on in south London! A little bit wishful thinking but we can hope!!

Again, I imagine Olise probably has a trajectory mapped out in his head for his career and unfortunately we are just a step along the way. Hypothetically, if we were to actually invest and build a team to support the core players we do have, would we see them stay a bit longer? You'd like to think so surely?

I love both but I think Eze is best at a mid-level club where he can enjoy the freedom of the city (so to speak). He's a showman and you can't help but love him. Olise is good enough for any team in the world, the only thing that could hold him back is his injury record. If he stays fit until the end of the season I wouldn't be surprised if he got his first senior call up for France (and if they don't maybe he might get a call from Southgate). Personally I've always seen Man City as his obvious next destination if he does leave.

Id try to keep Eze . As mentioned Olise will be on his way at some point , it would be great to keep him for another season but that lad is going to the very top and it wont be with us . Ebs we might be able to keep hold of

Eze, Eze and Eze, he is world class, the most naturally gifted player since Gazza, Olise is superb, and more attractive to bigger clubs, better discipline in his game, But Eze is a Genius
“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |
