Not sure whats going on and why a fit Johnstone would not be first choice .Hasn't really ever let us down £20M for Henderson seemed a lot for a back up keeper .But now he seems to be No 1 . Showed on Saturday he can be pushed around in his own six yard box Maybe there is some sort of rotation agreement or something ,maybe the Henderson transfer came with some sort of playing guarantee but I just don't get how Johnstone is sitting on the bench if its a matter of playing the best goalkeeper . Or am I missing something ?

Henderson isn't physically imposing. Not does he exclude an air of calm in the same way as Johnstone was. I didn't understand the rationale behind signing such an expensive 'keeper last summer and I still don't now.

Henderson seems like your mate's younger brother who steps in to play for your Sunday Team, full of arrogance and swagger but lacking the physicality needed for the age group. Johnstone seems far sturdier in goal albeit your straight cut, toe the line, consummate professional. Why we have two GKs, slightly different but both in contention for the no.1 place I do not know. I still don't understand why our little financial resource was dedicated to this, what the thinking was and how the situation is being managed now.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

I am led to believe that Henderson was purchased due to the uncertainty of the future of Johnstone. In my humble opinion Johnstone is the better goalkeeper.

Johnstone had just cemented his place as No 2 for England, think the Board saw an opportunity to buy, what on paper, was a decent alternative so as to sell Johnstone for 3 times what we paid for Henderson. No proof just my thoughts.

Regardless, poor management has got us to this point where we have 2 'first team' keepers

I feel that there is something going on behind the scenes that we are unaware of,I refuse to make uninformed guesses as Hol is full of BS at the best of times, I think we will find out before next season.
