Unseemly behaviour Roy doing the right thing, it's a bit overblown.

Showing disapproval in sporting/theatrical arenas has been going on since time began.
This could be denoted by waving handkerchiefs, thumbs down signs or other similar gestures.
Personally I wouldn't boo a manager, but I respect the right of others to voice their disapproval as long as it's not violent or personal in nature.
There's enough censorship around as it is and if we're not careful we'll live in a totally sanitised environment where the stadium really does become like the so called library.
On the broader point Palace fans are no better or more virtuous than other fans.
You can be Palace till you die, but that's of no comfort if you've only won 6 in 26 and don't set up teams to give you the best chance to score and win.

I'm not sure why you feel this way?

Unless you subscribe to the opinion that how fans feel about their football club is irrelevant and should never be given any attention or voice whatsoever?

The football club exists on the reliance of fans turning up and watching games, buying club products etc. etc. Unswerving loyalty obscures this. The sustainability of the business (as we know it) is dependant on the fans and their financial investment into it, which they give in exchange for their experience. The lifetime of a fan will almost always far outlast the tenure of anyone employed at the club.

I'm not really a 'booer' myself, more a mumble under my breath, post on a forum kind of person. However 'booing' is the quickest and most accessible way for financial contributors and customers to communicate discontent at the way a business, which they have a lifetime of contributing to both financially and emotionally, is being run.

If their experience of going out of a cup again without scoring in over three hours of football, winning one game in eleven, being unable to see the future direction of the club and anxiety over the immediate future is a miserable one, and their opinion is that this reflects decision making from the boardroom to the bench, are they not entitled to communicate this? Genuine question there.

'Supporting a club' is very different to supporting individuals involved at the club. Football fans have long booed, held demonstrations and downright revolted against individuals involved at their club as they support the club, not the individuals involved.

I'm not condoning their actions, albeit I do understand their motivations, but condemning them is for me either equally, or more so, bizarre. If fans start booing Olise/Eze because they don't score from 40 yard free-kicks I'll raise an eyebrow to say the least, but there is plenty to at least understand their motivations for now.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I understand Roy taking Ebs off, but equally he must have known the reaction he'd get. Those 1000 fans travelled to Everton in freezing conditions to watch a team in terrible form with the only bright spot being Eze. The fact Roy took him off so early was probably the kicker. The one time he makes early subs and it was to remove the best player on the pitch! I remember Brighton fans booing a few years back under Potter when they drew 0-0 and were eighth in the table. Now that is stupid. Booing one decision when your team has only won two out of the last 15 seems a reasonable showing of frustration.

It's a by product of the growing dissatisfaction among the support with how this season is developing.

For some, Hodgson can't get anything right. He's an easy target. The football is a bad watch, results are poor and the rest of the season now just looks like a grind.

He has to take his share of the responsibility, but he's not the sole reason for where the club is. And from the looks of it, more people are also asking questions of the decision maker/s at the top.

I think Roy is blameless, he is doing the same as he always has, defensive tactics, experienced players, no change, i wouldn't have started Eze, Andersen, Guehi, Lerma or Mitchell, But as for the board a complete and utter shambles 75% of the voting shareholders don't give a s**t and the other one is businessly impotent.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

They travelled all that way on a Wednesday night spending good money. They have the right to voice their opinions how they see fit.

I would say you've hit the nail on the head.

I certainly think there is problems in the board room. Can't see why else they would be gambling the future of their investment by their inaction.

Roy really has been given very little in the way of support. And they will probably make him the scapegoat when results don't improve, having neglected the squad again this month.

I feel that we are sliding towards being a grubby little club like Millwall,we have done well to survive in the Premiership by NOT being like them.

As someone who lived for a long time in New Cross, grew up in Lewisham and has been ritualistically albeit impotently been taken to/attended Millwall games consistently over the years, in an attempt by friends but more sincerely family to convert me - we are very far from being Millwall and booing will not move us any closer to being them.

We have survived well in the Premiership because of Steve Parish and the work he has done to resurrect us from where we were when he took over to where we are now. Unless we want to call it quits and just preserve the last decade or so to memory forevermore, this does not mean things will always be rosy and we'll continue in a blissful state of gratitude and nothing else.

It's football, it moves on, SP or friends are not perfect, they will get things wrong or reach their limitations, the team will play badly, the manager will come under scrutiny and fans have the right to voice their frustration, disapproval or concerns. That's either accepted as a fact of life or we remove all allowances for fans to act in accordance to their own free will. We are colour coded to match North Korea...
