Something needs to be done immediately !!! There is a losing culture around the club. Our players and fans are now expecting losses every match. We have half a team and some academy players on the bench. Steve and Dougie should be publicly shamed for running the team into the ground. I’m looking at other clubs and thinking 17th would be the best scenario this season.
No investment in PL players, 20M on a young player that’s a project, and no depth at any position. We need at least 4 signings during the window. Perhaps big six club players on loan. If we don’t get a major upgrade in talent we are sunk. We need two mids, one back and one forward at a minimum.

I shall refrain from apportioning culpability at the club but it seems that our 'Goose is cooked' and the 'Mood Music' amongst supporters is one of abject despair and deep consternation. The 'Direction of travel' is deeply concerning.

It's undeniably feasible that we could be in the bottom 4 by New Year.
With what's at stake in terms of the cost of relegation, I'd be amazed if the club doesn't spend to reduce this possibility.
As a minimum the investors will want to protect their investment.
The mistake we made this season was assuming that Eze and Olise would stay fit and be able to feature.
You have to other players in the squad to fill the void.
They don't have to be as good, but they have to be capable of carrying a threat to the opposition.
This issue is compounded by the failure to replace Zaha.

Having a handful of very good players is no guarantee of avoiding relegation as we saw with Leicester.
However, without being complacent, I'd still prefer to be in our position than that of Sheffield Utd, Burnley and Luton.
The aspiration of the top 10 has gone to be replaced by staying up.

I must admit that up to now i have been a defender of Steve , but with this spate of injuries and losses to so called weaker teams i see now just how much out of our depth we really are and how much we are lacking and need some quality signings , and i dont mean more goal keepers or Irish under 18s. Stay as we are and i cant reaally see where our points are going to come from .

What’s really amazing is that after 10 years we are still in the same place as when we came up. SP is a business man. Tag (the business he ran) was top of the tree in that industry. It beggars belief he and the board can’t see the rising storm of a problem coming up fast. More worrying is all the teams below and around us are starting to look better.

I’ve cannot wait until the end of January to get some two bob player in from some lower league Greek side. We need some help the second the window opens.

As always, there's no plan B... they always gamble that plan A is fine.. of course, we will say we were unlucky with injuries, but this the nature of the beast...

Parish lived long enough to be the villain...

'Immediately' isn't possible ,January being the next chance to recruit and I'll bet you a dollar we finish higher than 17th.

I would imagine everyone at the club knows what we need and will be working to get the right people in . The inflated fees for players in the summer maybe effected the clubs buying power ,targets became too expensive and it seems some players choose to become squad players at the so called big six rather than first team players with us. There is not a lot we can do about that .

But yes reinforcements are needed ,a sprinkling of quality would be great but its more likely to be potential again rather than recognised first teamers

If we go down I would imagine the impact on value will be at least £200m.
It is likely by the end of December that we will be lurching towards relegation.
Surely the board (who clearly have the funds) will allocate say £100m to buy in sufficient players to protect our position.
Based on forthcoming fixtures I am hoping our board is already on it.
As always with Palace it is ass about face as we should have our future manager involved now in choosing the players. Like him or hate him, that is not Roy. Whatever happens this has to be his last season.
If this course of action does not happen, then I reckon we are toast.

I’d say the two ends of the spectrum in terms of outlook would be:

The extremely optimistic: We do pick up a few points between now and the end of Jan, keeping us above the relegation zone and with players back from injury, and no more happening, Roy does his thing and guides us safely toward another PL season when easier fixtures come.

The extremely negative: We do not pick up any points let alone wins between now and February, we sink into the relegation zone with morale plummeting, key players missing or even being sold and the thrown together team we have unable to claw their way out of the pit.

I’m of the opinion Roy was kept on because the plan for this season was to just trudge through with the weak squad we have and next to no spending, therefore I am fearing the worst in terms of (more) non-investment in January and just a hope things will get better.

There is a very real chance things are about to get a lot worse however I’d say still only slim possibility of the board taking meaningful action in Jan. It does feel more of a hope and a prayer but we are certainly now well in a relegation fight where possibly we thought we might be able to avoid it. I wouldn’t bank on wing backs, a midfielder and any forward players arriving soon however. I’d love to see Roy pick up a few points between now and the window, so he can leave with some dignity, with a new manager brought in alongside 3-5 players for the first team in Jan as the necessity for this is realised, but I cannot see that happening at all.

The next 5 fixtures are very grim and I’m not confident about progressing in the cup either. Bad times.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Most certainly. It strongly appears that they couldn't get anyone else in after the demise of PV and were actually in contact with Hodgson whilst PV was still in charge. Come the close season and still no new name on the table, and surprise surprise, Hodgson accepts another year. Didn't he retire at some point previously? I wouldn't trust any of them.
One would have have thought that if the board had done a truly honest appraisal of the playing staff during the close season, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and with £50m to spend, then purchasing a sicknote keeper, an unknown quantity Brazilian, and a sicknote Arsenal reject was a gross misuse of funds in light of the actual here and now glaring needs of cover for certain areas that existed then and still exist now. Those purchases have provided nothing thus far, whilst weak areas are exploited by the opposition, hence our undeniably poor form.
With this in mind it occurs to me that the current squad is the weakest since our PL arrival. The uneven nature of it, individual player ability, lack of cover exacerbated by injury, players serving no role except to collect a high salary, all because Parish and his football director prefer it that way and have managed it to be in an existential sense. With correct scrutiny and honesty it could have been very different but hubris has gripped them both.
It's an incompetent shambles, and that's being polite.
