Despite having some of the wealthiest backers in the Prem, the Board seek finance to fund the new Old Stand.

So where has the £100M gone that was invested by Harris and co that was 'ring fenced ' for ground improvements .
Parish made a big thing of saying it wasn't for players but for the ground re development

i am now convinced that i could live to age 110 and that even my great-grandkids will never see Selhurst being anything other than an outdated kip.

eternal discussions :
- World Peace
- The cure for Cancer

- Redeveloping Selhurst

Rich people never use their own money.

I should add that the original cost of £100m was pre COVID and building costs have since soared so it is possible that the cost is now £140m?

Indeed Badger, I was just going to post that in the last thread on main stand / ground improvements (as recently as Nov 2023) the costs were projected as £150 Million - or £150 / 200 Million depending upon which of the posts you were more inclined to believe.

The building cost never added up to begin with I pointed this out when SP first mentioned it the starting cost would have been around 110m and its rare it ever hits that low figure.

He was later on almost begging for other investment for it.

160m is still too low this is why it's not worth it may as well spend double on a new ground.

People asking what happened to 100m It would have gone into other improvements to the ground and the likes of training/academy plus it wasn't 100m anyway it was how much they paid for the club which was close to 80m.

The Americans have no issue using lots of money over in US so it does make you wonder why they wont put anything into Palace.

Can anyone remind me why building a new stadium at 'Crystal Palace Park' fell by the wayside?

I'm not trying to defend Parish but maybe the owners can't fund all the stand themselves as may be in danger of breaking similar FFP rules as Everton as I'm sure some of their cheating was to do with new ground.

I may be completely wrong though!

£45M - that's about half a Harry Maguire.

I don't know the rules but I thought that at one time infrastructure build was not included in FFP although I might be wrong.
