I have seen articles stating that we would be utilising the loan market in January, to cover gaps in the squad (most notably Doucoure). I have had a look through the PL squads and really only found a few possible loans. Elneny from Arsenal Dendoncker from Villa van Der Beek from United I am struggling to see anyone else who might be available and worthwhile. Alot of PL clubs have injury problems of their own and need to utilise their squad players as well.

I'm wondering is our line-up today a message to the board that we are down to very bare bones? This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

We're paying the price for two years of really poor transfer windows. I wouldn't expect us to be able to do anything on the cheap in January to paper over the cracks. 23/24 - Franca, Henderson, Holding, Lerma has basically brought in a central midfielder for the first 11. The former 3 have contributed nothing. No Zaha replacement. 22/23 - Doucoure, Ahamada, Richards, Johnstone brought in a central midfielder to replace Gallagher and McArthur and I'd argue a slight upgrade on Guaita for the first 11. Richards and Ahamada have contributed nothing. The squad is thin of numbers generally, and very thin of players who would definitively walk into sides in the bottom 3. Of today's 11, that list excludes Ward, Mitchell, Richards, Hughes and Ayew. The major worry is that the defence is meant to be the strong foundation for our questionable, injury-prone attack and all of a sudden there are leaks everywhere. 26th January 2010 - Enter Administration 2nd May 2010 - D-Day 1 - Survival at Hillsborough 1st June 2010 - D-Day 2 - Survival at Lloyds 7th June 2010 - CPFC2010 exchange contracts.

I read today that apparently Noni Madueke is growing frustrated at a lack of playing time at Chelsea. Local lad, was on our books as a youth player and looks genuinely exciting. Given our positive history with Chelsea loans maybe worth asking? (unless they're pi$$ed about the Olise issue).

I read today that apparently Noni Madueke is growing frustrated at a lack of playing time at Chelsea. Local lad, was on our books as a youth player and looks genuinely exciting. Given our positive history with Chelsea loans maybe worth asking? (unless they're pi$$ed about the Olise issue).

There was a lot of bad feeling with Chelsea over the Olise situation. The Lewis Hall done deal was then unpicked. Can’t see us doing any business with Chelsea for some time. There is a lot of mutual bad feeling.

Kelvin Phillips looks like he might be available. With a Euros coming up half a season of guaranteed football would be useful. We could do with some energy too
