I would suggest most fans of a certain age know what "the Vince Hilaire" kit was. The white shirt with a red and blue sash, made my Admiral. Is it a stretch to suggest the Virgin kit we wore at the FA Cup final "belongs" (in this same sense) to Ian Wright? Anyway, you get the idea: What shirts did individual players make their own, either through performance or some other characteristics or contribution?

Im liking this thread . . . AJ with the Centenary Kit(2005). Gerry Queen with the Claret & thin light blue stripes(1970). Johnny Byrne with the White kit with claret & blue hoops(1961).
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |

I feel Butterfield gets the 2010 GAC/Nike kit?

I will maintain and edit this post in chronological order. I can't second your choices from 1970 or earlier, Eagleman, but will list them for now. 2014 -- Dwight Gayle -- Basel halves for Crystanbul Keep them coming. You don't have to agree!
Shipperley -- yellow shirt with sky blue shorts and socks.

Btw GPW, whilst i agree about Butterfield, surely the whole of the team should 'own' the home shirt for their heroics last game of that season away to Sheff Weds.

Gimme a year for Peter Taylor. While I applaud the sentiment about the whole 2010 year, I quite like trying to get a feel for eras based on individuals. Also, strangely, I don't have a super strong feeling since the PL era. Maybe Delaney gets one...? Maybe it's okay that some eras are not linked in this way

When I see the superb adidas home kit with red rose as the sponsor from the early 80’s I always think of Kevin Mabbutt!! He was one decent signing we made in those bleak times who stood out and it was a real choker he got injured
