What time and place or event would you travel to, if you could be a metaphorical fly on the wall and observe what went on.

I'll add that in doing this fantasy you are not under any physical danger and get to come back.

For me...despite not being particularly nautical I have a couple of sea events.

Firstly I'd like to know what really happened with the Mary Celeste.

And second it would be quite something to experience those two and a half hours after the iceberg hit the Titanic.

If this thread interests you I would recommend that you read Ben Elton's book - Time & Time again.

I would travel back to 1965 and make sure that I didn't ask my first wife out

I’ve got a similar one, I went to Huddersfield away in January 1986 and came home late Saturday night knackered and cold after a depressing 0-0 draw, just as I stretched out in front of the fire the phone started ringing, it was my mate asking me to go clubbing. Sod that I thought after travelling up north all day, but he was persistent, so I went……and that was the night I met my wife …….so basically if I could time travel, I would’ve stayed in front of the fire

Excellent , and I suspect very truthful!

I'd travel back to Friday and go with my instinct for a takeaway and early night but more importantly to not bother with the 3 hour round trip to watch us watch Spurs pass it around at the back without challenge...

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I suspect if you started a thread entitled: "Palace games that I wish I hadn't bothered to go to" there would plenty of posts.

I'm tempted to post:
