It’s hardly unexpected is it. He was out for the last 3 or 4 months of last season due to injury.

I know we needed another keeper as a No 2 but there are plenty of prospects about at not much money. Why on earth did we blow almost our entire budget on this turkey ?

We have bought some turkeys before but to spend so much on somebody we didn’t need beggars belief ? Is it all part of the DF master plan ?

It does give food for thought . When you consider the amount of money put into him and Franca, to end up with two crocks, unable to contribute, because neither is fit for purpose . It took ages to get both over the line, surely in both cases their actual condition must have been well known.

Fair to say I wasn't exactly thrilled with the Henderson signing when I felt as though we needed the money spent elsewhere.

However, calling him and Franca 'turkeys', 'crocks' and 'not fit for purpose ' is insanely harsh given that the season has barely started.

Maybe give them some time before we start slagging them off?

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Henderson was a risk not worth taking and the signing at £15m,rising to £20m was beyond comprehension, given our need to strengthen elsewhere.

A good response to the 'turkey' analogy. Let's hope they haven't both had their chips, in terms of their football careers, with Selhurst Park as their GRAVYard.

I think we are becoming conditioned into thinking that when our players get injured we wont see them again for 6 months .

My hopes with both these new signings:-

1. They both make full recoveries and do not get re injured (not sounding good).

2. We didn't actually pay the amounts stated for either, but the amounts quoted were assuming they get and stay fully match fit. (again, at this stage, wishful thinking.

While Im on this downer, I will also throw Olise into this recovery hope. Im now wondering if that's why the deal with Chelsea broke down and he came back to sign a four year deal.
Talk about insurance for him.

Now, please God, make sure they all get fighting fit and stay that way.

I heard that we wanted the Leicester keeper that played against us last season but were priced out of a move for him (strange as he's now their 3rd choice). Maybe we needed a keeper and panicked somewhat in moving for Henderson although probably justifying the big fee as quite young for a keeper.

When the Henderson move was more or less completed I opined that surely he's not here to settle for reserve keeper status, certainly not at a cost of £20m. Some poster wiser than I confirmed that he was now the number 1, which obviously is total bollocks.
Why did we pay £20m for a sicknote reserve keeper?

In red, you know this because? You have proof?

In Blue, he was injured, Chelsea knew it, did they even put a bid in for him? New 4 year deal, gives Palace wriggle room to flog him later next year, IF he stays fit. How many injuries has he had now with us playing for the French U21's?

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

To be fair ... you couldn't say they were good purchases either.
