Peter Greenaway's Drowning by Numbers for me. Slow and quite weird -it has a great soundtrack but apart from that I have no idea why I've seen it several times.
Also have a soft spot for Heaven's Gate which has some great scenes between stretches of confusing boredom.

What are yours?

Interesting question this one teddy, I can do plenty of films that everyone loves but I hate, but I’ll have to think about this one, I’m sure I’ll have a one or two

Carry On Up The Khyber.

To my mind, a work of cinematic genius, an opinion that my kids have never shared....no matter how many times I forced them to watch it

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

I still love the carry on films, as do a lot of our generation, but I’m afraid our offspring just don’t get it do they?

Cloud Atlas. A weird film based on a weird but clever book.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

O Brother Where Art Thou.

If i hear another comment like disappointing for the Coens or great music crap film I will run amok in portishead with a claw hammer.

When the credits rolled i could have happily sat through it again.

I love '2001: A Space Odyssey' which I consider to be Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece, based on a short story by Arthur C. Clarke. However, I've shown it to Mrs YT and the two Miss YTs but I may as well have shown them a blank screen.

Great film. "I'm a dapper Dan man", "He's a suitor".

Got to admit mate, I’m with the ladies in your life, I’ve always thought it was so overrated…..but each to their own

Fair dinkum. I guess I've chosen the right film for the thread then!

I first saw '2001' at the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road. It was some kind of re-run after it had been restored or something like that. Maybe having seen it on such a massive screen formed my opinion, although I admit it must now appear very dated and low-tech in comparison to more recent sci-fi.
