But listen to some of Roy’s interviews and you will hear that he works more on attacking than shape and defence. He always says shape and defending is easy and more times needs to be spent on the attacking patterns of play.

Andros was commentating on a game at the end of last season where he said that they didn't work on attacking play. Crouch said it was the same with Pulis at Stoke. Maybe it's an old school thing? I'm not having a go at Roy btw, as the club know how he sets up, how he works in training, etc, so they let him down with their transfer activity. The fact is though Roy does not take risks and if he believes we are the underdogs he nearly always reverts to type which is to hang in for as long as possible in the hope we'll get something on the break. It can be effective but it's boring as hell. As it is with our current injuries I think even Jesus himself would struggle to perform any miracles.

The whole attitude will be different Saturday, apart from a stronger team players will be a bit more up for it. Whatever they might say, those players were not playing at 100% last night, they might have been running around looking busy, but a lot of it is mental attitude as well.
We’ll put in a much better performance Saturday as we’d all expect, I fancy a 1-1 draw with a lot more attacking intent

I'm inclined to agree.

A frontline with options of Olise/Franca/Mateta/Edouard/Ayew may yield something with Eze behind them but as of now more than half that cohort is injured.

Any team we field will look more like a loose attempt at getting something as opposed to a line up we have any faith in getting a result with.

The 0-0 seems like the best possible thing to wish for, let alone achieve.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!
