Does he actually think that Macron can make offers on behalf of the EU?

If yes he is not fit for office, if no then WTF is he doing there?

Anyway, quite happy he is starting to alienate Red Wall voters again.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

France and Germany run the EU I am not defending Starmer because I sense a stitch up however if you want to do a deal with the EU it makes sense to talk to those two countries the rest of the poodles will do as they are told.

That said I can't see why the EU would give Starmer a better deal unless he is prepared to sell out Brexit.

I don't think the other EU members would agree with each having one vote!

Back to reality it just reinforces why the UK is well shot of the EU.

I suspect that he knows he's on a hiding to nothing with this, it's little more than a tactic to reinforce what a disaster the Tory led Brexit has been ( in his opinion ).

I don't think Starmer is either arrogant or deluded. Actually I don't think he's anything really.

Agree witht he first point- get France and Germany on board and the rest will follow.

For clarification he is not re-writing the brexit deal - that's not possible, but is attempting to tweak a few areas. There are set times in the existing deal for such re-negotiations to take place.

As we (the UK) are not doing many of the checks we are meant to be doing and this has been continually delayed, partly as this will have a big impact on food inflation, surely any improvements in this area are a positive.

Obviously the Starmer haters and the pro Brexiters (who seem quite happy to have our GDP constantly declining) will never be happy.

If Starmer can get a better deal whilst keeping to Brexit I would be very happy. But as he is as slippery as an eel I will not hold my breath.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when that telephone conversation is made between the new British PM and the US President.

"Mr President, we have Sir Keir Starmer on the line"

"You what? You've got a queer farmer on the line?!"

"No, no Mr President. Sir Keir Starmer"

"Stay calmer? Why have I got to stay calmer. I don't need to stay calmer. Do you know who you're addressing......"

"Hi Sir Keir. Can we give you a ring back....."

Starmer will win the GE. He will then sit down with the EU. And some kind of 'deal' will be arrived at. But Starmer, being the man of principle he is, and probably helped by some motion passed at the Labour Party conference, will then be compelled to put it to the British people, alongside a rejoin option all wrapped up in some legislative BS about it being a done deal for at least 25 years.

Or variations there of.

But Starmer is in situ with the sole intention of taking us back into the EU. By hook or by crook.

And this is ALL Blair. Starmer merely the mouthpiece.

Blair's name popping up in the media today as having facilitated the recent Macron meeting.

The stitch up is on.
