1. Sir Steve. Saved the club and got us to our best league position. 2. Roy Hodgson Saved us from regelation and has kept us a mid table team at times we have over achieved under him the season before PV took over too old too slow and yet we were safe. 3. El Tel. Don't like the man but he did a good job first time around.

In my time of supporting (1974 onwards): Malcom Allison - made us fashionable, changed the colours and crest and gave us a new identity. Relegated twice I know, but what a run to FA cup semi-final whilst in the old 3rd division. We became many people's second team and played some exciting and attractive football. Stevie C - Took us from lower reaches of old Div 2 to finishing 3rd in the first division plus a cup final. We had our chance of european football cruelly taken away. What a team he created and without spending a fortune. It was the only time I can remember going to home games and expecting to win. Roy - not the most dynamic manager and not many great highs. But he has played a huge part in keeping us in the PL which is no mean feat. Again operating on a low budget and a local lad. Excellent ambassador for the club and seemingly universally liked and respected as a club manager. Honourable mentions to Tony Pulis (short but memorable reign), Big Sam (the same), Pardew (great football for a time and a cup final) and Dowie (a promotion and bouncebackability). Only been going since 2000... 1. Roy: Squad of absolute old dross, plus Wilf, and kept us well away from relegation for several seasons. Includes the season when we lost our opening 7 games. Now showing what he can do with a squad of good players. 2. Pulis. Similar to above, but even worse set of players but wasn't there for long. 3. Freedman. Turned us from relegation fodder into world beaters playing exciting football with some very shrewd signings. It was his team, not Holloways, which got us promoted. Special mention to Iain Dowie for his wonderful promotion season. The 'Dowie punch' was an added bonus. Also a mentioned for Steve 'Judas' Bruce - we were briefly awesome with Jovan Kirovski pulling the strings before they both done one to Birmingham.

He was my first Palace manager and forever with those players in the late 60’s / early 70’s were my boyhood heroes :-) I would struggle with Steve Coppell and Roy Hodgson to say which one is my number 1

The issue with Coppell and Venables is probably that we were the best but they also had other spells - which were, er, not quite as good. So first spells, fair enough. I've largely repressed the memory of the others with drink. Warnock did a lot to keep us going when all was lost.

Malcolm Allison-he put us on the map. The publicity Palace had throughout the Allison era was enormous. Steve Coppell-what a team he created. Can't forget the feeling after Pardew's goal in the 4-3 FA Cup SF versus Liverpool. Roy Hodgson-what he has done for the team is enormous. And let's not forget Bert Head and Paul Hart. Forever grateful to all these men!

Steve Coppell Big Mal was a force of nature and his personality and the way he basically re-branded the club, as someone said above, put us on the footballing map despite back to back relegations. I started supporting palace because he made us famous and cool at the time despite only being third division We were great to watch under Venables first time around and it was obvious those great young players loved playing for him and he too was a real personality and such a likeable character. Sir Steve Coppell, how him and noades put that great team together of the late 80’s early 90’s is a miracle really and never to be repeated. Can you imagine a team now finishing in 3rd place in the premier league with players signed from Dulwich Hamlet, Greenwich Borough, Crewe, Port Vale, Aylesbury, Bristol Rovers?
