Iversen you would imagine is just to fill the role of backup keeper. Iheanacho is a more interesting proposition. He is not going to score a hatful of goals, but he is probably a better all round player than Eduoard or Mateta. Personally I hope there is some truth in this rumour.

We need back up in the goalkeeping department, and a good option in the striker department. These two do that.
People might be picky about Iheanacho, but get this fella into his best form and he could give us a real lift. It’s only ever about form no matter who you get, and his best form is very good.

Another striker who doesn’t score. I’d rather stick with OE and use the money for a left back.

Iheanacho would be a good rotation striker with Edouard. Think mateta is on his way out.

There were articles about Iversen being linked with a move to Palace couple weeks ago, but underneath the headline was a statement that he would only come if he was a guaranteed starter, so unless Sam is on his bike (unlikely) then it seemed a non story.

When asked if we were after Iheanacho Alan Nixon said "no but we were after someone better"

I wonder who that could be - Balogun perhaps or that young Manchester city lad on loan

Now in the ES. If we sold Mateta for say 10m and got Iheanacho for around 20m I think that'd be pretty good business. I could see him linking well with Eze and Olise.

Balogun has publicly stated he will not do another loan. I am sure we can't afford his hefty price tag.

However, doubt there is an orderly queue for his services in the Premier League. Not at that price for a relatively unknown player in this division.

Also, he ticks all our boxes in terms what we want (not always get) of home grown (sort of) tons of england youth and young enough for resale. And his Ligue 1 record was impressive.

Perhaps waiting for the price to drop at deadline if no-one else with deeper pockets come in to gazump (west ham)
