Steve Parish was quoted as saying "We will try and do one or two more things if the things are right next week".

What / who would you like to see the club bringing in?

If it's true that Guaita is unhappy and wants to leave my guess is that one of the two will be a keeper. we are now being linked with Dean Henderson and whilst fine keeper he may be I can't see us paying £100,000 per week for a reserve keeper.

The remaining "one" is a bit of a worry as we need to replace Wilfried Zaha as well as upgrade Mateta. I don't buy the Franca is Wilf's replacement story as the lad is untried in the Brazilian league let alone the Premier League so we need a left winger if we are to achieve the club's dream of a top ten finish but please nor Demarai Gray.

Striker - I haven't a clue but if JPM isn't up to it we need to replace him as we still don't know that Odsonne can do the business.

What are your thoughts?

I think you are about spot on, Right footed left winger is priority, i would like to see LB cover, if Guaita goes obviously a replacement, loans will do, i agree also about Franca, when he appears i think he will be CF, at first Bench and on for Edouard.

"It's been a difficult window, prices have gone crazy we did try but some of the deals fell through, still we did re-sign MO".

No idea who we could or should buy but looking at it purely in terms of goalscoring it's not as if we're trying to replace Harry Kane.
Leaving aside Eze's 10 last year our goals came from

Zaha, Edouard, Mateta: 14
Ayew, Schlupp, Olise : 9
Andersen. Guehi, Tomkins, Ward : 4

If we could get more efficient at corners and Lerma & Doucoure get a couple each we should be able to equal, or better, Wilf's goals, with someone else taking the penalties of course.

Im seriously hoping Franca will be a regular player either on the pitch or from the bench when he is fit. Dougie put a lot of time into securing him including trips to Brazil. Dougie has got a hell of an eye for young talent and with a price of c.£20m I can't believe Franca was brought on spec.

Wishful thinking Lanzo. You know as well as well as I do that he's been bought to replace Eze when he leaves next Summer.

As for the 1 or 2, the Portuguese winger may actually be a genuine target. He's the right kind of price for us bargain basement hunters now that we've splashed the cash on the the potential Eze replacement. As for the other, if Mateta is sold we could go for Dennis who can play across the front line.

AS much as we might like to upgrade our FBs, our defence is pretty solid with the double pivot of Lerma and Doucoure (assuming the latter stays) as a shield and the pressing need is for more attacking players.

I think the key word is 'try' here. That to me imliea we have nothing definite on the horizon, that we are not working on or close to any deals.

We have all been blinded by Olise signing a new contract to see that despite the signing of Lermer who looked fantastic against United and Franca - juries out, we have lost more and start another season worse off than the last.

Not a great position to be in.

Penalties! No Wilf or Luca. Who's going to take them?

It looks like Mateta wouldn’t be averse to a move and there seems to be interest in him from overseas clubs.
If he does go, it seems likely that we’ll get a replacement.
We’re linked today with Iheanacho who in my view is too good for the championship.
He’s 26 and has a decent record in terms of goals and assists in around 200 appearances.
To get much better may well be outside our budget, so he could be an option.
He’s not a hard working target man type who would link the play , but he does have a good shot and an eye for a goal.
Other than a striker I would hope we would get a left sided forward and obviously a replacement for Guiata ( although ideally I would like him to stay as he is proven).

Eze? If not then I wouldn't mind seeing Andersen have a go. Edouard takes penalties but he tends to dink them which looks great when they go in but dreadful when they don't.

We may be worrying unduly about replacing our penalty-takers. Last season we were awarded 3 penalties in the Premier League and we missed two of them. The one we scored was put away by Eze.

I’ve got a feeling we’re done as in decent signings. SP said we’re in a good position where we’d like to do one or two things but we don’t have too. That tells me we might sign a couple of ‘bodies in the door’ type signings just as cover, squad players. So basically not the decent striker to replace Edouard and Mateta we’re all crying out for.
