First of all this is not about Palace but Chelsea. Can anyone explain to me how after being fined £8.6m for breaches of the FFP which in my eyes is a pathetic amount for a club who’s owners think that splashing the cash is the solutions to everything for success. A few years back Man City were fined for doing the same thing but it really does seems to be a case of who cares, pay it and carry on. I know other factors are taken into account attendance turnover but it seems that the top 5/8 clubs can abuse the system no end and get away with it.
On the other hand a club like Palace who have to watch and control every penny in the transfer market the slightest breach and the FA would be rubbing their hands in glee and flexing their muscles making a prim example of their power.
I would really like to se a real tightening of the law if a club like Chelsea break the FFP ruling a ban and fine should be the minimum starting point.

Shortly afterwards Man United admitted to the same "clerical errors" paid a fine to HMRC and got off scot free with the FA as did numerous other big clubs.

The cynical might suggest that HMRC and the FA went after the little fish rather than picking on the big well funded culprits.

I agree with you MrRobbo, financial penalties do seem ludicrous when you consider the phenomenal wealth of some clubs. Points deductions, suspension or relegation would surely be more of a deterrent.

Manchester City's ongoing investigation is a complicated one and will apparently drag on for a long while before a decision is reached. It'll be very interesting to see the extent of their punishment, if any, when a conclusion is finally reached.

The general concept of trying to establish a more equitable way for clubs to behave financially is solid enough, but the penalties don't seem to fit the crime.

The big teams get away with this for many different reasons here is a few.

1. legal team which fights it.
2. A lot of the owners have influence on political stage
3. It's delayed if you use Man City for example and they breach it for all seasons they won title it looks terrible for the sport plus how do you undone that you can't.
