We’ve been crying out for the last 10 years for a little dynamo who reads the game, has speed and bang.. can aim the ball and hit the net to the side of the keeper. We’ve been cursed with leggy, slow, ‘none aiming’ bangers who at best hit the keeper. Benteke was of course the king of this. His mechanical slow ‘ball strike’ time must have been the worst in history which is why Liverpool quickly flicked him to a gullible Palace. I know that’s in the past but it still haunts me. NEVER AGAIN. Another Ian Wright, Andy Johnson, Glenn Murray would be nice! Surely he’s out there in lower leagues.

The beatings will stop when morale improves.

Just get the male equivalent of the Colmbian striker at the World Cup. Aggressive, runs the channels well and not afraid to get a hard shot off. The antithesis of our guys

Hopefully one who knows where the back of the net is.

However I will settle for a striker that works hard at stretching the defence and can hold the ball up for our midfielders.

The sort of striker that defenders groan when they hear he is playing because they know they are in for a tough afternoon.

With the creativity we are assembeling in the midfield I would be looking for someone who can get on his bike and anticipate or encourage a pass into space .
Having a decent shooting attributes would also be nice

Which basically rules out the two strikers we have but you never know with a bit of encouragement ..... I need to stop drinking

Someone who can also create goals themselves without having to rely on an assist

I’d like someone like Ollie Watkins. Scores all sorts of goals. Has the work rate. Plays wide and central.

Benteke's ability to hit the keeper when the rest of the goal is gaping is a rare skill and a fine art, not many honed it to such perfection as he did.

I am going to put a tin hat on for this, but I am not convinced Maupay is as bad as his stats look for last season and Everton don't seem that bothered for him. There we go, that's me attempting a football opinion that I'll probably regret.

That's what the Everton hierarchy told themselves about his spell at Brighton. How did that work out for them?
