Nothing new here, allegations without any evidence. There is an enormous amount of money to be made on the UFO conspiracy circuit so it is just possible that these witnesses are positioning themselves for that. Until we actually see this alien technology it's just allegations. The US government has denied them but the conspiracy theorists will say of course you do. Edited by Badger11 (26 Jul 2023 10.15pm)

For me, this was one of the best documentaries on the subject. Makes the most sense imho. Nick Cook at his best. Channel 4, 2005.

Sorry don't have time to watch that. I did see a documentary where the reporter investigated the careers of various well know UFO "researchers" rather then if UFO's exist. He came to the conclusion that these people were making a lot of money so people should bear that in mind when they see the "evidence", these people are not impartial, they maybe telling the truth but their careers depend on keeping the story going.

It is frustrating that no one ever just produces an alien spacecraft or a body, but would the sceptics believe it even if they did? The problem here is that some people see belief or disbelief in this stuff as a measure of their intelligence. Their egos can't allow them to entertain the idea. Certainly, there is a lot of money to be made on the UFO circuit these days, but that does not mean it's not a real phenomenon. It also doesn't mean that all claims are true. Ultimately, I think that one has to have an experience before they start to believe. Without personal experience, one is stuck with what they see on the TV or in books. I would be interested to hear how naysayers explain away the Navy footage taken from fighter jets, or why this subject has got to congress if it has no substance. I'd have thought that many hundreds of reports by pilots and military personnel deserves serious investigation. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (27 Jul 2023 8.20am)

I have always been very sceptical about ghosts because they have always been associated with charlatans and because my belief system doesn't have much room for an afterlife. What does it mean? I have no idea. With UFOs, there is an equal chance that aliens are visiting or not.

People need to understand that the people being interviewed in Congress yesterday were not kooks. They have witnessed UAP's. Seen the radar returns. Filmed them. These are professionals whose word would be accepted as gospel when it comes to their areas of expertise in any court in the world. The definition of expert witnesses. Are there lots of people out there who claim to have been abducted after necking 9 pints of scrumpy and dropping a couple of tabs of LSD? Absolutely. But these are not those folks. The existence of UAP's penetrating controlled airspace and displaying manoeuvring ability that goes beyond what our conventional understanding of physics are is an undisputed fact. Reported in mainstream media. All that remains are the questions around where from and how. But they are here. Edited by Matov (27 Jul 2023 9.11am)

A good perspective Matov. I have relatives who were RAF flightcrew in the 1960s and 1970's. There are a few accounts in their flight log books about UFO/UAP encounters. Either on radar, or visual. Having an interest in space, I find it difficult to believe that UAPs would come from another planet and not be spotted/detected before they even got within a million miles of earth. So although UAP's are a definite phenomenon, they are almost certainly of human origin. Just my opinion. And I thoroughly enjoyed watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind last week Edited by Forest Hillbilly (27 Jul 2023 9.28am)

Someone who gets the significance of this development. Mention UFOs and you get Ghosts and the Loch Ness Monster. No wonder it's so easy to cover it up... Whatever it is.
