If this is up there for you within the realms of ‘I didn’t see that coming’ or ‘not in a million’ I completely agree however it is not a random click bait article it’s on the bbc gossip page today which usually holds some water.

Must surely mean we are expecting a departure but I am intrigued to see if this gathers any pace. I usually see plenty of speculation before bbc report anything so very intrigued here!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

It looks like Guehi replacement. However, at 29 would want him to be cheap. I think that's his age. He wasn't really integral at Man City but who is?

Saw that and immediately thought he's way past us. Would be signing for a Champions League team from somewhere before us.

Oh and it's the Star that the story comes from, so yeah, never mind a pinch of salt, perhaps a boulder....

Was exactly my thoughts Johnny but again I think the BBC don’t just post any old tut!

Not scientific by any stretch of the imagination in fact it’s only my general estimation which is almost anti-science in itself! Might be just a touch of wishful thinking from me but being linked with Laporte still very exciting for me as it’s very far from championship strikers and car park shenanigans which still linger in my mind!

Does anyone seriously think Laporte would come to S.E.25 at this stage of his career?

Is it not quite similar to Cahill?

Apparently he did an interview for La Marca recently and when asked his ‘favourite place in the world’ he said ‘The Goathouse Pub on Norwood High Street’.

And I know his favourite shop as he's been spotted in Sainsbury's car park!

He's a lot younger and has 2 years left on his contract. There is no incentive - other than more games - for him to move here. And he would be on a salary double that of anyone else on the team

Laporte walks into most Champions League teams automatically. Would be amazed if this was any more than agent talk.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I'm sure the door would be open to Laporte should he come knocking.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)
