Yep, I too saw his show at the Albert Hall, a few years earlier when he was 83 I think. It was a masterful performance by a real pro. Great rapport with his audience. Nice bloke too by all accounts. RIP

 


Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

I think all the best known ones have their qualities. I'm not qualified to judge the technical aspects of singing. It's just what you like at the end of the day.

My personal tastes are too broad to enter into a discussion about who is the best anything.
