Being reported by sky sports:

'Palace leading race to sign Schuurs'
Crystal Palace are leading the race to sign Torino's Dutch defender Perr Schuurs.

The 23-year-old centre-back moved to Italy from Ajax last year for £8million.

His contract has three years left to run.

Interesting one that as it seems there are rumours of bigger clubs than us in for him. I also wonder is a sign that Guehi is on the way out. I definitely think we will be selling one of Eze, Guehi or Olise this summer.

I will be surprised if all 3 are on our books at the start of next season.

He has presumably done well in Serie A as Transfermarkt (generally conservative in their valuations) have him at Euros 25m.

I seem to recall at Ajax he was thought of as Matthijs de Ligt MKII.

I'm all for this, hopefully he is not Guehi's replacement however should that come to pass I suppose we'll have to accept it.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

If we are indeed after this player and he is going to cost 20m plus then I very much suspect the club are expecting to get an acceptable fee for Guehi from Spurs or whoever.

Schuurs or Nelsson would be a good signing and the sale of Guehi would release funds for the purchase of a decent forward.

The way I look at it, a decent goal scoring forward is far more important to us than worrying over replacing an excellent centre half with a good one.

Wish we could have both but the septics need to put their hands in their pockets for that which has looked unlikely since day 1.

Disagree. We need excellence in all positions, and Geuhi would be a huge loss, and would need replacing with someone just as good

What, do you replace a £60m player with a, err £60m player?

I agree. We also have Richards, just hope he can stay fit
