So, nearly 1.3 million net people arrived here legally last year. That is a city.
Where are all these benefits? Why have successive governments failed to understand the fallout of two world wars, the pill and the need for women to work full time? How can we possibly sustain our infrastructure at the required rate, and why would we want to see our countryside disappear just to accommodate foreigners? Who will pay for all this? You know the answer. Such short sighted stupidity for which we are paying a huge price and our children and grand children will be paying the price for a lifetime.

I thought the net number was 600,000, still a city.
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

No, that does not include a number of categories. Wrong. That's those incoming, the immigration figure. What reduces it to 600,000 is those leaving, the emigration figure. The only number missing are those who have entered the UK without paperwork and escaped detection. Refugees and asylum seekers are. I know this because I heard an interview with the ONS just an hour ago and it was explained then.

You are completely out of touch with the British people and with reality. Try living in a town where it no longer feels safe to walk the high street and where most people speak a foreign language. There are now many.

Unless we allow skilled workers to come here our infrastructure could collapse. The idea that we are "full" has been a mantra of the right throughout my life. It has never been true. Expansion needs careful management but there is a huge amount of space available and resources expand to accommodate need. It's not an insurmountable problem. Perhaps you don't know but apparently there are now more people in favour of increasing legal immigration than against it, with most ambivalent. You are in the minority! The reason this gets attention is political. Many of the swing seats are anti-immigration so there is noise around this issue whenever an election is on the horizon. When it's over, things will just carry on.

Most people don't care one way or the other, and it seems more are now in favour of increased immigration to fill vacancies than are against it. I guess you must live somewhere which has been impacted by something and your opinions distorted by it.

Right now, we are just setting ourselves up for a complete meltdown of our social structure.
People like you of course are oblivious to the consequences. You just think everything will be alright no matter what. Well, The Sun will incinerate The Earth in 8 billion years, so why worry about anything?

This is Wisbech thinking he's the centre again when in reality he's pushing left wing attitudes to immigration that the majority oppose.

Basically in a nutshell.....we're fecked. The left destroyed the country. It's just more managed decline from here. Wish I could say something positive on it.
