He is right of course in general.
I don't agree with blacking up though, however, if black actors can play white roles - when everyone knows the person in question was white - then why can't a white actor play a black role unmade up?

He is indeed largely right, and I don't imagine for a moment he will be "cancelled" as a result of speaking his mind.

I agree though that the colour of a person's skin should not matter at all. Whether that is the original, or the actor, unless the context of the role explicitly involves racism.
