Once again the mighty Palace hit the 40 point mark. We're nothing if not consistent when in comes to reaching the (usually) magic number.

We are doggedly not relegation fodder, but no more than lower mid-table. Which will by and large always make us a difficult team to beat. Who knows if we will ever end up comfortably in the top half, but I am still enjoying the EPL ride.

Our remit for every season should be to hit 40 points in less games than the season before and to enjoy a cup run. Simple as that - therefor you are always improving and looking up the table and using the cup matches as respite and a bit of fun for the fans, maybe bringing home some silver.

Parish’s pre match pitch side interview today was very good. He looks at Palace as being a long term project with the major balance being between staying in the Premier League without overspending. He also sees increasing revenue as an important step in our evolution so hopefully the completion of a new stand is high up his agenda and it will happen.

The game changer for us, if we are a prem club when the new main stand completes it will be a huge moment. Certainly will make us more appealing to investors

‘Woop woop’ as the kids say, or do they? I don’t know anymore but unsure I ever did in the first place. We should be looking for mid if not lower top half finish, perhaps pushing for Europe, a cup etc however I do still remember absolutely soaking Tuesday night 0-0s against the likes of Crewe and Swindon. Grateful we made it this season, feels like a cup itself sometimes and keeps lofty dreams alive! COYP
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

A real leap forward would be to get to 50 points in the same time or less, this would see us playing for 10th and above. We've had ten seasons of basically treading the same path with little improvement in league position, and although we can be pleased with that as a thing in itself given the club very nearly went out of existence in 2010, it would be nice to see us push on.

Yep I feel he same. But with every other club outspending us, hitting the same mark is great in itself. We've got such a good crop of players now, a good summer window and good management appointment and I think we'll have an amazing season next year.

If we keep getting to 40 in record time, means we can then finish closer to 50... 5 years and I expect that to be a reality...

I still have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming that we will be enjoying ( some of the time) our 11th consecutive spell in the top flight next season. There have been a few times during our 10 seasons in the PL when I, and I am sure many others, have thought that we were due for the drop - in fact a only a few weeks back things were looking a bit grim. But, we have survived another year, and it is worth remembering that in our time in the top tier 30 teams have been relegated
