Grudge match between Vafaei and Ronnie coming up. I get a feeling the Iranian might win.

I've taken up playing again now I've retired. Anyone else dabble on the green baize? Cracking game to play. Purchased the cue extension you see the pro's using. The blue and black slip on thing. Works great means you can use your own cue for the long shots.

Bet there are a few folk who have a go having the seen the pros Without realising A. How big the table is and B. How difficult it is to play properly.

I'm a bit of a pool shark but I'm starting to lose it with the inevitable age and eyes. I used to play snooker weekly and would win and make the odd break but still a break of fifteen-twenty was good. I'm always speaking to people who reckon they make fifties quite easily, funnily enough never see them do it. When I was a kid at school used to be a member of the snooker club. It was expensive for the time: 15 a quarter I believe. However, had a hundred quid fruity, food and cheap drink and a club pro. Sean something who wasn't that high up. Maybe in the top 50-100. I never asked him anything but maybe used the hallowed match table twice. Darts quite regular for me now but I'm very inconsistent. Suddenly a ton, suddenly one dart bull, suddenly less than twenty. I'm not bad at the doubles.

I always wondered how Bobby George could play with all that weight on his hands and round his neck. Trophy still there in pride of place on the mantlepiece. I always thought darts leagues were just a piss up - which I totally condone. I'm about to go on the piss for the day now soon - will be playing a bit of darts. Will have to sleep in the spare room.

It isn't - it's in the garage somewhere (with the others, he added modestly). Darts trophies tend to be quite large. That one is about two feet tall and full of marble tiers and other embellishments.
