1. Right back -- boost the defence and add something to the attack. Upgrading here would add loads to the team
2. Left wing -- either renew Wilf or we really need a bit of pace, power and energy there
3. Centre mid -- if we want to press over a period of games, we need way more energy in the middle. Ahamada is a work in progress but even if he comes good, we need to have depth there
4. Goalie -- just feel Vicente is getting on, especially for a keeper whose game is so much about reflexes and agility
5. Striker -- I don't put this higher because even £40 million is no guarantee of goals in the Prem. Sign an energetic nuisance and if they score too, great

What would be your order of preference for strengthening the team/squad this summer and why? And keep in mind we won't get what we want

If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities.

1. Centre Forward
2. Wilf replacement (Left Wing)
3. Wilf replacement (Left Wing)
4. Centre Forward

That’s only two players just the order of my first 5 thoughts. If the team remains as is, CB we’re fine but need a back up who isn’t injured all the time and with Johnstone, Butland and Whitworth, goalkeeper not an immediate concern for me. A first choice RB of more priority than a LB for me but would take both if possible.

Any midfield addition great but may need one along with Doucoure, Hughes, Eze, Ahamada. If we move on Jairo, Luka and JMac then we’ll definitely need at least one more.

Up front we need strengthening and our first two priorities should be an effective striker and someone to replace Wilf. I don’t think that’s Eze btw, he’s a central player for me.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Full backs for me. Clyne can just about foot it at this level...Wardy's been a great servant. And I get the love for Mitchell as an academy guy - but he doesn't quite seem up to this level.

Full backs.
Left wing/Wilf replacement.
Forward.
Lokonga on a perm/CM.

Full backs for me. I think all 3 don't offer much going forward and when comparing them to the other team's full backs they are 3 of the weakest in the league. Mitchell is not bad defensively but will benefit from some competition and we have not had like for like cover since selling PVA.
Wilf position will only be an issue if does not sign a contract extension.

Parish made it quite plain in January that the club was skint although he dressed it up in PR speak so where will the money suddenly come from to make wholesale changes.

My guess is that one or more of the club's major assets will be sold, probably Guehi

A decision on who the new manager will be to be made public on 1st June - obviously better beer , bogs, snacks etc can all happen before that (Yeah right) but in terms of incoming players / contract extensions or renewals it would be good to have a declared manager in place, a proper pre season & a full squad (Yeah right again, who am I kidding) Monday morning optimism.

My list is pretty similar.

I think Rak-Sahki may have done enough during his loan to be in the club's thoughts for next season, but he is a left-footed inside-right, so I'm not sure we can fit him and Olise in the same side very often. Olise could play more centrally and perhaps a little deeper as a playmaker, which would accommodate Rak-Sahki, but I can't see us playing Olise and Eze in the same midfield. In any event, a new left winger will be required, and he'll have to be a f***ing good one too; Wilf cannot be replaced individually, but neither can we afford to carry a significant downgrade in that position. Eze might get moved out to that wing, but I'm not sure that suits him particularly.

If a right back can be found as well then great, but if we don't address the top end of the pitch then any signings further back will have little effect.

One of the reasons Ward has been with us so long is that every summer there are other positions that need strengthening ahead of right back. This summer is no different.

I think you are spot on. The fact that Ayew and Schlupp have been offered new deals indicates to me that we can't afford to replace them.
