or does any Hol-Eagle want to take the long odds from the Bookies ? Southampton, bottom of the table in Mid-April. With a crappy goal-difference. And the Toffees just appointed a good manager. Southampton squandered a lead to a ten man Wolves, at St Mary's. Many of the other Relegation-threatened teams have still got some fight, still getting points. no New-Manager bounce. Players looking jaded and disheartened. Draws will not be sufficient.....needing many wins to survive. Relegated ? as the italians would say ''i would bet my c.ck on it'' Edited by PalazioVecchio (11 Feb 2023 5.57pm) Edited by PalazioVecchio (08 Apr 2023 8.34pm)

Similar club to us and were a few years ahead of us in the premier league. Always mid table like us and never really kicked on. Could be us in a year or two!

The club has been purchased I expect for years this was another reason they had struggled the owners had no interest and wanted out. Now they had gone and spend but too many new players coming in. I bet DF is making out a list of players to try go for from teams below us in summer Edited by grumpymort (11 Feb 2023 7.45pm)

more bad news for Southampton. Bournemouth just got a draw against a strong Newcastle. And the other two relegation clubs still have a game in hand.

Not now , I put this in palace talk aswell, normally at this stage of the season there is a team rock bottom and you can write them off , after sacking jones and getting that win yesterday along with Bournemouth , you cannot with any confidence at all say a team is defo getting relegated this year , this is what makes it all the more worrying for us …
“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder |

I'm uncomfortable with this thread being here at all. Leeds just got a win against Southampton. Plus a stronger Goal-difference. The proverbial 6 pointer. The performance of Southampton against the bottom 5 teams has been lacklustre. The odd win here and there is not enough to cement a Premier League survival. Now do you really think the Saints can compensate with big scalps from the top of the table ?

Looking at their remaining fixtures they won't get to 28 pts unless there is a vast improvment .Even if there is they are relying on others falling apart 35 pts absolute tops

No one is doomed yet, saints beat Chelsea and a couple more wins on the bounce now changes everything Edited by monkey (26 Feb 2023 5.17pm)
