Out of nowhere today, my mind was cast back to Pardew's dad dance at the cup final.

Was it as excruciating for you as it was for me? OMG....

An abiding memory of his tenure at Palace.

I'm still wincing as I write lol.

TBH I was more troubled by the way we let Wayne Rooney dance through our midfield.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Certainly was some jig, gyrating his hips in a moment of sheer ecstasy.

I was more bothered by Gayle missing a sitter that would have had his statue built outside Selhurst

My thoughts exactly.

So up himself, that man.

All he needs for the utmost joy is a mirror and a hand shandy.

Managers express their unbridled joy in different ways. The likes of Arteta and Conteh etc are animated during moments of ecstasy after their teams have scored vital goals.

Apropos Pardew, we had just scored the opening goal in the FA Cup Final against Man Utd and he was just re-enacting his moves on the dance floor.

Not much of a tactical instruction but it will probably suffice.

Yes but the trouble is, I got the impression that it was done for the cameras so it would go down as a great winning image to be replayed in the future. Except that it backfired massively.

I don't know about anybody else but I was there on the day and all around me there were people saying that it looked like tempting fate and that he should address the team, make sure they're organised and keep their concentration.
