I'm not bothered about which formation; only that whichever one we do play, we play it a lot better than we have our formation(s) so far this season. 2, 4, 5, and 6 I could not agree more. I'm 100% with you on all of them. 3 for me is harder to say because it presumes PV has a fixed role in mind for Eze and with the new arrivals, I'm not sure that's the case. Also, which "Wilf role"? The one out wide? I don't think that suits Eze. The one more "in the hole/down the middle"? I think that does suit him. 7, honestly, I'm not as fussed as some. As long as CPFC are playing football at Selhurst next season, I'll be there.

Agree on all except 3 and 7. I think Schlupp would make a decent left winger. He'll drive at defences and get crosses in. What we need. Eze is best through the middle (although admittedly we haven't seen it this season yet.) Richards is a CB I think. Let's play him there. Good to have three quality options vying for two spots.

Eze is an interesting one, isn't he? Richly talented as we all know, but from what I've heard said by those in the game and those with first-hand experience of him, extremely laid back and also quite a shy and retiring personality. Perhaps not one to grab things by the scruff of the neck and really push himself ahead in the way he needs to to succeed in a highly competitive environment. This season, he honestly has fallen far short of fulfilling the promise he showed last year and I think PV has a real task unlocking him and getting the best out of his obvious talents. Given what he has in his locker, he should be the sort of player you can build a team around but truthfully, he's not performing anywhere near that level at the moment.

That's interesting because on the Palace sites he seems quite open and outgoing. Maybe it's in the more serious interactions like team meetings he goes into his shell. And then of course we have Michael Olise....now there's shy if ever I saw it !

Except now that the PL has ruined the game, the so-called "bad" old days may just not be so bad anymore. We might just find that playing in a competitive league with fans that support their local teams, where we have a chance to win a championship, and where success isn't determined only by wallet-size isn't such an awful proposition. Younger fans probably won't get this logic, but those of us who've followed Palace for a while might.

Whilst I do understand this point Syd, I can't help but think any return to the championship would spark romantic reminiscing of the PL days and a yearning to return once more. I did occasionally enjoy being able to have a seat free beside me in the Holmesdale for the extra leg room however, must say.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

You're obsessed with 433, we don't even play a proper 433 especially when ayew plays as he plays too deep, it's more of a 442 with zaha just having a free role to do what he wants. The reason we don't look good is because eze is a luxury player who does nothing off the ball.
