Anyone heard anything about Wilf's hamstring? If not, any idea when we might know?

As we don't have a game till a week Saturday, I can't see the club saying anything until they deem it necessary which might not be before PV's pre-match conference (presumably a week Friday).

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Newcastle look like they are signing Gordon from Everton so that will close another door. Hopefully Wilf will realise the best club for him is the one he is at.

So you would offer him a three year contract, worth about 25m with signing fee, a player with a injury and who is deteriorating before our eyes.

I didn't say that.

We don't know his medical history so sure that most come into play however he has been playing with an injury which shows his commitment.

He has already been offered a deal I would be happy for him to have another 3 years the club would have to decide if he was value for money.

Wilf rarely gets injured.

Why are you talking about his contract situation when he has an injury that will keep him out for 3 weeks ?

That player “ deteriorating before our eyes “ is still our biggest goal threat.

Disagree, it will be his last contract, i think he will lose that desire he has, flip flop time, he has been our best ever player, but we have made so many mistakes extending contracts when we shouldn't have, its time to think with the head and not the heart

Maybe he'll have one of those coincidental bursts of amazing form right near the end of his contract, like a few others. Easy Street SE25.

I'm with you on this Lanzo. I just wonder how Wilf will react when his dream of European football doesn't materialize. Will he sulk and be the Wilf he was a few seasons ago when he didn't get the move he wanted or will he knuckle down (assuming he signs a new contract)? Personally I think it's time to move into a post-Wilf era and give our new flair players the opportunity to flourish.

Having said that I will always be grateful for what Wilf has done for us - kept us up on more than one occasion and given us hours of enjoyment. He can still have his statue outside the ground.

I second that
