The "trusties" on Twitter seem to think that we are in for him but hardly the experienced pro that PV asked for

Not experienced, but if he has energy, physicality and athleticism that would be a big boost. His stats show he is quite quick and covers a lot of distance. At the end of the day, as it stands, if Doucoure got injured we'd be f*cked, so I'd say this looks like a good signing on paper.

Started at Juventus though never made a first team appearance according to Wikipedia. That also shows his height at 6ft and his current team as 'Crystal Palace' though so not always the bastion of truth! There's a lot of other teams who have tried signing 'names' for big prices which never seems to work out. I'm thinking the likes of Utd, Villa, Everton and so forth so perhaps some faith is needed, if this were to come true, that our scouts have done their jobs properly. He is playing for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga so hardly complete obscurity.

Lack of experience and his physicality has been questioned. I am sure I heard PV assert that his team needed experience and physicality ! Edited by Willo (24 Jan 2023 8.58am)

I'd take Rice if he were on offer. I'm not getting overly excited nor enthusiastic but similar sources were quoting Scott Banks as some sort of Lionel Messi type player. You'd be forgiven for asking 'who?'. I can only read as much as anyone else. Whilst not saying this will be a good acquisition for us if it comes true I equally am reluctant to condemn it as a 'bad' prospect off the words of a few others.

My words were not any condemnation in the sense that you have expressed. I readily admit to never seeing Ahamada ply his trade and only heard about the player at the end of last week.He has hardly made any appearances at all in the Bundesliga and supporters might conclude that yet another young "Prospect" is not quite what is required at this juncture and that more experience is required in that vital midfield 'Engine room'. I am willing to entertain the notion that Ahamada is a good young player with potential, however whether he is the lad to slot straight in to our midfield and make a difference is open to conjecture. Having a quick browse of the Stuttgart forum they seem to like the lad, but it sounds like their club is in financial troubles. It does sound like he is green though and will probably make some errors. Here's one crudely translated comment... Ahamada is by far the most talented kicker we have in central midfield, he has speed, a strong dynamic, is technically very strong and still has great potential for more. Under 20-25 million I wouldn't even touch the phone with him. Some people seem sceptical of the source of the rumours, so I wouldn't say this is a done deal yet, but sounds positive. Again, far from a done deal however from what I've seen Stuttgart fans seem to be very fond of him but resigned to their situation given financial difficulties. Edited by Nicholas91 (24 Jan 2023 10.55am) Richards only played 5 games for Bayern, And 30 for Hoffenhiem, so fingers crossed we get him and he is good.

Richards was in the Bayern Munich setup for 3 years and played 38 games for their second side who won their league. He did make appearances in the first team and then went on to make 30 apps for Hoffenheim.
