A question many asked on the match thread.

Does this help?

He’s obviously a modest fellow, not given to self-congratulatory vainglory.

It would be refreshing if other goalscorers behaved similarly.

I guessed it was a Balotelli type thing. Didn't the stroppy Italian once say he didn't celebrate when he scored because it was his job to do so, and the postman doesn't celebrate when he delivers a letter?

Slightly odd if you ask me, but I'll let him off.

I celebrated.

I can respect that. Doesn't mean he isn't proud of an amazing goal. He'll have worked hard to be so good at free kicks, so he will be immensely satisfied inside.

I do remember one of the CPFC videos behind the scenes where he's running out to training, and they've left a trophy out waiting for him. It was Premier League Young Player Of The Month or something like that. He jogs past it, and some one points out it's for him. He stops and picks it up, and looks at it, and he's literally like 'Is that for me? Ah, cool', and that's it. No disrespect, but no lauding in is success either.

As an introvert I can respect his reaction. It doesn't mean he doesn't care. Maybe he just doesn't want to be centre of attention.

Olise either is, or is cultivating a persona/image of being, an enigmatic personality.

As far as I am concerned, he can do that to his heart's content so long as he keeps providing moments like that. I care not otherwise.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I agree. He is certainly being the silent type. Maybe affectation but who cares? Rather refreshing to be honest.

But wasn't Ten Hag ungraciouse with his 'Lampard' moment? Didn't win because of an 'unlucky' moment. No Erik, you didn't win because for once a cheating professional foul got it's just desserts and then that free kick.

As long as he is happy at the club I am happy for him not to celebrate his goals, I hope we have this discussion every week.

Bit of an enigma our Michael. Doesn't make a fuss. Just plays some lovely football. He scored. Nothing to worry about.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.
