Very very good tonight. And as I said in the match thread, probably still only at 6/10. We've been sorely missing someone like him in the engine room - just miffed as to why it's taken so long for PV to see it. Gives us a good option with Schlupp driving towards goal in the final stages too (which I believe won the winning free kick?)

Positives he tackles and wins the ball.
Negative he then proceeds to give it away again.

Hughes had a terrific game, gave the ball away once or twice, but he was brilliant.

As far as I recall, we didn't win.

Hughes reads the game well, wins his share of tackles and keeps things ticking over in midfield.
Just what we've been missing.
He needs to keep this form going as that could really help the team for the rest of the season.
It's a mystery to me why he hasn't been selected before, but I suppose Vieira has preferred Schlupp's greater physicality and pace even though he's not an authentic central midfield player.

Some of his passes were unreal. He just needs to eliminate giving the ball away which I’m sure will come.

I am glad to see this thread recognising his contribution.

He set the tone from the start, with interceptions and biting tackles. He was everywhere and was clearly MOTM.

His distribution wasn’t perfect but he more than made up for that with the ball winning.

I sincerely apologise to Hughes I have not been his fan until tonight
He was BOG for us & AWB was BOG for Utd he kept Zaha quiet

Hughes if he plays like that all the time he will keep Milo on the bench.
Was a silly sub swap to be honest Will was still playing well

Eduardo ??? Do we have a give back clause for laziness ?
Yes he nearly scored but yes he looked lost fumbled the ball many times &
I mean fumbled

Forever Palace Proud

He needs to keep it simple. But was great having some energy in there!

Thought he was fantastic and I’ll leave it at that.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Really hate saying 'I told you so' and I'm not saying he's the answer but I've always rated him and Jesus he brings so much more to the table than Schlupp does!! It's a strange one with Hughes though as it does appear that Vieira doesn't like him for whatever reason!!

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!!
