Very very good tonight. And as I said in the match thread, probably still only at 6/10. We've been sorely missing someone like him in the engine room - just miffed as to why it's taken so long for PV to see it. Gives us a good option with Schlupp driving towards goal in the final stages too (which I believe won the winning free kick?)

Hughes had a terrific game, gave the ball away once or twice, but he was brilliant.

Hughes reads the game well, wins his share of tackles and keeps things ticking over in midfield.

Some of his passes were unreal. He just needs to eliminate giving the ball away which I’m sure will come.

I am glad to see this thread recognising his contribution. He set the tone from the start, with interceptions and biting tackles. He was everywhere and was clearly MOTM. His distribution wasn’t perfect but he more than made up for that with the ball winning.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

I sincerely apologise to Hughes I have not been his fan until tonight Hughes if he plays like that all the time he will keep Milo on the bench. Eduardo ??? Do we have a give back clause for laziness ?

He needs to keep it simple. But was great having some energy in there!

Thought he was fantastic and I’ll leave it at that.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

Really hate saying 'I told you so' and I'm not saying he's the answer but I've always rated him and Jesus he brings so much more to the table than Schlupp does!! It's a strange one with Hughes though as it does appear that Vieira doesn't like him for whatever reason!!
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
