I don't know whether it's true that he has accepted £10m (or $10m) to promote Quatar's image, but if it is, it almost makes me feel sick. The man is rich beyond avarice and here he is cynically taking money to say nice things about that evil state. Ugh!

Include Linekar and Gary Neville in the hypocrite dustbin. Both saying we will highlight HR issues. Yes of course they will. Both these have criticised the Government on migrants and Neville in particular has been dry vocal, calling the Tories “a cancer”. Well I can only see one cancer here Gaz and it’s not the Tories. Neither Beckham or Neville have any scruples. This forthcoming WC has become a money magnet for some. Although alcohol is banned in most places, I've seen one five star hotel selling beer for £80 a pint. Qatar is a dreadful regime staging a corrupt tournament. The sooner it's over the better as far as I'm concerned.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Beckham really does seem blind to the truth. And he has turned his back on some of his own ancestors....

Yet another example of ‘these are footballers, not academics, they’re thick as sh!t the vast majority of the time and will say whatever is in their interests’. A ‘like’ for POG’s post too.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

The Article I saw that quoted £80 a pint (Daily Mail) was working on the premise that one sports bar was charging £240 entry fee to watch the World cup final on the big screen which included 3 free drinks - ( worst case calculation) hence this is where they got the £80 a pint headline calculation from - on special occasions its not unusual for bars to charge entrance fees with xxx free drinks included, its to stop groups of people getting in there early & occupying tables to the exclusion of people who would otherwise be cash paying customers who would eat / drink / spend money - Originally posted by Palace Old Geezer

Beckham has taken the money and gone against his principles to do so.

I don’t disagree with you but the highlighted section made me smile as it immediately reminded me of Donald Trump!
